my blackberry curve will just shut off in the middle of a call and then won't turn back on for a minute or two. Its only about 3months old

mine is doing the same thing. I finally called the my carrier (AT&T) & spent a good 2 hours on the phone with the rep & techs. They don't have many answers & my phone was replaced from the previous 8300 (up to the 8310)

In researching, they said I may upgrade if I resign the 2-year contract & my out of pocket (not in store but only if you telphone the 611 to get AT&T rep) they will offer the Bold for $199 with the instant rebate. RIGHT before processing this order, I did some research & did a side by side comparison with the (not yet released at AT&T but expected to come out any day now) the blackberry 8900 is FAR better. The camera 3.5 megapixel is better than the current & Bold's 2 mp & both this & the video have a stabilizer!! The price looks like it will be the same out of pocket (T-mobile $199 after rebate) & I tried the in store phone of the bold & the keyboard sucks it's too flat. This 8900 keyboard is BETTER than the 8310 AND the Bold. Raised lettering with a grip of sort...... so you can basically hit the ground running with the 8900 if you're upgrading, it's smaller than the bold, it's basically your current version of the curve but polished up like the bold & it's truly a waaaay better phone. My best friend has the iphone & frankly if you're a blackberry lover, this 8900 is about the best phone (in my opinion after 4 hours on line of researching) than any phone out there right now. If you can wait, it's what, March 15th today, they expect this 8900 to come out this month. I think they are waiting a little while because it will upset all the Bold buyers..... they want to sell as many as they can because it will upstage the Bold..... so wait..... & get the Blackberry 8900, larger space, faster internet, better screen & keyboard & that perfect size (the bold is also too large)

Hope this helps, sorry to break the news but you will probably be looking at getting a new phone. Good way to spend your tax refund!

I locked myself out of my BlackBerry by typing the incorrect password too many times. Its asked that I reload software 513 but I don't have a clue where to start :-(

You will need a computer. Install the Blackberry Desktop manager on the computer, then hook your Blackberry to it using the provided USB cable.

There is an option in BBDM that will allow you to load software onto your Blackberry.

If you can't do it, places like Inovagent can fix your Blackberry.

This is my second blackberry curve that will not ring!

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from:

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Provider for Hardware Support.

Blackberry just randomly shuts off

check your battery terminal. I had this same problem right out of the box. it would only stay on for 15secs shut down and continue to cycle. turns out one of the 4 prongs wasnt connecting right with the battery. I could clearly see one was shorter than the others.

The phone would only work if connected to the computer.
Are you within your 30days? or 1yr manfacture warranty? or 90 days if it refurb (ATT)(anyway)

Blackberry curve cuts out and doesnt come back on

i had this problem. you need a new battery! and when this happens you need to take the battery out and then put it back in after like 5 seconds. it might say u have no battery left after this. take the battery out again and then put it back in and you should have the same amount of battery as you did before it shuts off
