Question about ASK Proxima C420 Multimedia Projector
Getting color distortion and mainly the top of the projection is opaque blue and some shots are showing yellow on the rest of the picture when it should be white background. This would seem to be electronic in nature and can it be fixed at a reasonable cost?
Unfortunately not. the discoloration is caused by the light filter getting fried due to excessive dust and heat. and you cannot purchase the parts individually. you'll have to replace the entire optical engine.

Tips for a great answer:
After turning on the projector, press "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel
simultaneously for 3 seconds and release the buttons when screen goes blank.
2 Press "+" and "-" buttons again to exit the diagnostic mode.
3While in Self-diagnostic mode, the screen will run a seven-color-cycle test as
Red--> Green--> Blue--> White--> Watchet Blue--> Dark Green--> Yellow.
Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct. Contact Dell if the colors are
not displayed correctly.
