Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a jvc big flat screen television, and after being on for an hour or so the picture starts to jump, getting worse as time goes on. If I turn it off for a while and turn it back on then it does not jump right away but will start back jumping eventually. Why does it do this and what can I do to stop it?

It sounds like it may be overheating. Is it excessively dusty or are any of the vents blocked?

JVC HD-56FN97 when turned on blue light is solid,red ligt blinks a few times and goes out. My picture is very dark despite adjustments I make in the menu, any help or feed back apreciated.

The set does use a lamp for a light source and average life is 2 years or 2000 hours---many lamps before they actually fail get to be darker.

DLP TV starts to loose picture after 1 - 1/2 hours of use

This tv has a 3 board video path. Analog main pcb --->Digital main pcb --->DMD pcb. see which inputs have the problem to narrow it down. if only some inputs, suspect analog board. if everything flickers(all inputs and menu), suspect the dmd or engine. you can see the lamp shine out the back. if the lamp is flickering, suspect lamp or ballast.

Mitsubishi VS-45607 45" Big Screen

Good Day, Delano1981;

It may cure the problem but I would suspect the 9 Volt source
CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND
IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH
ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

This should resolve your TV"s condition.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Picture has horizontal lines that move to middle of screen........

Just got this fixed. The problem is the 21 (yes, 21) main capacitors. It'll only get worse if they aren't replaced. The whole screen'll start jumping, multi-hour "warm up" times until you get a clear picture, maybe not even then... it isn't pretty. Just nip it in the bud now, and more power to you if you tackle it yourself. A good repair shop ought to be able to do this for under $400 if you can't.
