the model got confused! it should be an LG WF-T1022TP...

It does drain but never gets up to spin speed. gives short attempts lasting about 3 secs each.

seems i fixed it... I checked the motor resistances,, both windings 23ohm. I checked the run cap.. 12.3 microfarad... checked the winding of the "drain mech motor"?? which is the device that changes the transmission gears for spin etc... and it was 6kohm and ran when connected to power.. but the lever did not pull with any force.. so I purchased a replacement and the problem is fixed and the wife is off my back...!!

Hi,
The machine is quitting , on the spin cycle could be beacuse of two faults.

1. Could be an electrical fault on the PCB unit (ie. the buttons on the machine you configure it )

2. Could be a mechanical fault warn out bearings on the tub assembly or the break assembly can be faulty.

To assertain the fault , try putting the machine only in the spin mode and let me know if it works or gives an error.

Thanks
Proton

Spinneing can be a problem with the motor coupler, not filling may be a problem with the sensor, I will give you more details.

HI,

If your washer won't spin, check these:

It doesn't pump or spin
It pumps, but doesn't spin
It spins only with the lid closed
It doesn't pump or spin If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:

  • If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.

  • If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

It pumps, but doesn't spin If your washer pumps out the water but doesn't spin, check these:

  • The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

  • The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.

  • A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)

  • The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician.

  • The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.

  • The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.

  • The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.

It spins only with the lid closed For safety, washing machines are made so that they spin only with the lid closed. The lid switch prevents the spinning action when the lid is up.

Spin action starts but does not reach full speed and then switches off as if programme has ended.

It is still water in drum and pressure switch does't switch to empty position. After several attempt, washing-dryer go to end of program. See problem with drain out water.

Screen reads UE? what is UE?

UE stands for Unbalance Error. If the washer has tried to spin numerous times, tried to redistribute the load itself between each attempt, and still not been able to get the load up to full speed without experiencing an off balance condition, it will finally stop and display the UE code. This is most often the case when a heavy / bulky item(s) are being washed and the spin speed is set very high. When washing these items, set the spin speed to low. The machine will most likely be able to handle that. If you want them spun out faster, then AFTER the washer has made it through the cycle on low speed spin do this: Turn the power back on. Without selecting any cycle, just press the spin speed button, selecting the next higher spin speed. Now press start, and your washer will just do a 14 minute or so pump and spin.
For super wet heavy loads, if you cannot even get the washer to go through a cycle on the lowest spin speed, you may have to wring a bunch of the water out of the clothes by hand before doing the 14 minute cycle thing.

What is a ld error code? It will not spin when it is supposed to spin fast. This is the error code that comes up.

Hi,
LD is the error when it takes longer than 5 minutes to drain the water out and reset the sensor. Press pause/cancel twice to clear. The washer will begin a slow spin, and when the motor allows, increase the spin speed towards the spin speed selected. Depending on the model, it will make several attempts, each time pulling water off of the load at the slower speed. If it cannot "get permission" to increase to it's selected speed within the allotted tome, it ends the cycle and the error code "LD" is displayed. Usually two common things can contribute to the DL alarm. One is the strainer, and the other is the drain line. The strainer is in line between the drum and the pump. On a front loader, it is behind the kick panel below the front main panel. It is connected to the drum with a rubber hose and strains the water going to the pump. Clean the strainer, and, while it is open, look inti the pump cavity. Remove any debris that you find there. Reassemble the strainer.
Anything that gets by the strainer and pump will eventually pass through the drain line and on out through the house drain. Empty the drain hose into a bucket to help displace any sediment and debris in the line. If possible, run an empty cycle with the drain hose pointed outside.
Best regards, --W/D--

After a wash cycle, the letters UE appeared in the timer window..

UE = Unbalance error.
try to use a low spin speed with loads like rugs, and try to get as even a load as possible. (ie: not just one rug) Don't wash rubber backed rugs, as the backing can break up and clog your machine.

Now, if you are successful washing with the lowest spin speed, you can hold the " Spin Speed " button in while pressing on the power button. Release power button. Now release the spin speed button. Now, press the spin speed button until the next higher spin speed from your last successful spin. Press start. Your washer should now pump out and attempt to reach the new spin speed, without adding any water. (usually about a 14 minute pump and spin cycle) Don't expect to be able to spin out rugs at a high spin speed.

Washer spins but not enough to extract water from clothes or tub.

could be a loss belt or a kinked hose, since you say it feels weak i would think it is not getting up to speed which would be a loss belt or drive train issue, of course it could just be to big a load or on slow spin speed setting
