Tip & How-To about Apple iPod touch

How do I manage an iPod from a USB?

The Apple iPod is designed to automatically synchronize with Apple's iTunes when connected to a computer. When the device synchronizes all data on iTunes, including music, videos and other data files are transferred to the iPod. This can be frustrating when you're on your own computer and need to charge your iPod or just one or two songs to the computer. It is important to learn to manage your iPod manually without automatic synchronization to all music and data are transferred by it.

1. Double-click the iTunes icon on your desktop. Allow iTunes to load.

2. Connect the USB cable to the iPod. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer. The computer now recognizes the iPod.

3. Find the iPod listed in the "Devices" category in iTunes. Click the iPod to select it. Find the "Summary" tab and click. This brings the iPod settings.

4. Select the "Manually manage music and videos." Click the box next to the selection. Click "Apply" at the bottom of the iTunes program. The settings are saved for that particular iPod.

ipod classic 7th generation won't sync

Step 1:
With iTunes software, iPod users can manage their media libraries, purchase or import new content and synchronize their devices. The software has a number of convenient features, one of which is AutoSync. This feature will cause your iPod to automatically synchronize with iTunes immediately upon connecting the device to your computer. You can also set up iTunes so that you can manually sync your iPod.

Press the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your computer keyboard simultaneously while you connect your iPod to the computer using its USB cord. Mac users will press "CMD + Option" while you connect. Continue to keep the keys pressed down while you monitor the iTunes window. Keep the keys pressed until you notice that Auto-Sync has stopped and your iPod icon has appeared in the Source pane of iTunes. Be patient, as this could take between 5 and 30 seconds. Right-click on the icon for your iPod in the Source pane, and then select "iPod Options." Click to put a check mark in the "Manually manage songs and playlists" check box. This finishes your task and you can now manually synchronize your iPod whenever you wish by simply clicking on the "Sync" button.

i dont know how to sync my ipod touck to itunes

Plugging your iPod Touch into your computer should automatically start iTunes. If not, plug your iPod into your computer and launch iTunes.

1. Under the iTunes menu, select "Preferences"
2. Select "Devices". This will allow you to activate automatic synchronization.

You may also select the device directly in iTunes, this will allow you to check manual synchronization, determine when iTunes launches and restore it to factory settings.
