Question about Bosch Refrigerators

Bosch Classixx Fridge freezer KGU30604 I keep finding water in the bottom of the fridge but whenever I clear it, it reappears. Both fridge and freezer appear to be working otherwise. The fridge is set to 6 and the freezer to -16. Thanks.

Water in the bottom of a refrigerator may be caused by a condensation tube that doesn't drain into a pan or by a clogged freezer drain. also condensation if the door is open

Have you checked the door seal. You seem to be having a condensation problem. your fridge conpartment is cold enough according to your observations. but the moisture from outside the fridge is somehow entering the inside. I would check the door seal. i would also lower the setting to 5 and see if this helps. I'm not sure about your particular model but most units have a drain in the bottom and a pan for the condensation to drain into. also before you put leftovers into the unit, make sure they are cold and not hot. this will cut down on condensation as well.. please rate this.

if the gasket is not fitted and the ref sucks moisture from the outside, it would become water inside and rest on the bottom of the refrigerator

Hi Kloynes,
It could be a problem of LEAKAGE.....Followings steps may help you tackle the problem:
Steps

  1. Check the hose under your fridge that drains condensation and such into a catch tray. Make sure the hose is draining properly.
  2. Blow air through the tube to make sure it is not clogged. A coat hanger wire can be inserted to break up clogs. An alternative method is to use a bicycle pump to force air through the drain hole to remove any obstruction. Vacuum dust bunnies from under the fridge to allow free flow of the air. Most refrigerators periodically blow warm air across the condensation tray. The warm air dries the condensation in the tray.

Tips
  • Clogs are usually caused when dust, moisture and micro-organisms get together in the drain tube. Keep the dust vacuumed from the back and bottom of the fridge. Make sure the drain tube is firmly connected at all points. The drain tube can be flushed with chlorine bleach, rubbing alcohol or other anti-bacterial product. Product selection should be consistent with the tubing material.

Warnings
  • Use caution with anti-bacterial products. Make sure that any such products cannot flow back into the food compartment.

Things You'll Need
  • Wire hanger
  • Anti-microbial agent such as chlorine bleach, rubbing alcohol or anti-bacterial soap.

Thanks

Bosch intelligent frost free 88

We have the same and I think it is because the freezer door bounces open when we shut the fridge door. Then the freezer compartment ices up, the fan clogs up with ice and cannot blow cold air into the fridge, and the fridge gets warm and the milk goes off.
Solution? We have bought one of those child safety clips (search for fridge safety clip or lock) to hold the freezer door closed.
Simple design error. Expected better from Bosch :-(
