Sony pfm-42v1 problem, its has double image top and bottom

Look at the back of the tv. Bend down and then look up and you will see the coaxil connection and possibly other rca connectors as well.

turn it off for around 30 min..try it again, then let us know what you find...could be a control board issue

try to fined the compatible sachet

it may cause by resolution mismatching, read the manual to find correct resolution needed. I have a service manual, if you want I can send it.

I have a Sony PFM-42v1 and it does the same thing, look in your tv menu for picture inversion, usually under screen saver. What it actually does is reduce the chance of screen burnin. By reversing the image it sort of resets the hot areas, brightest colours and the cooler areas being dark colours, switches them around ( negative ). This cools the hot spots and heats up the cold spots.

There should be a option to turn it off, mine and I guess yours as a default is ON, mine has the ON, timer and OFF options.

PFM-42V1 has no ability to receive channels through aerial / cable.
You can hook direct video cables from dvd player, vcr, PC etc.

The Sony Plasma designe not to repair at component level your problem I believe in YSUS PCB you can adjust a few variables resistors on this PCB make sure to mark on the spot before turn you can alway go back to original point, set your plasma on normal channel turn the variable resistor slowly and observe the picture any spot will effect the picture if you can not adjust you need to replace a new PCB
