First, go to my computer and scroll down to devices with removable storage, then look for you mp3 player, click on it, enter it's file system, and find where it keeps mp3's, then just copy and paste, it bypasses the software. If that does not work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and program, then try it again. That is a model number
Or you can try to fix your problem using someone else's files for your player. You need to set your computer to view hidden files for this--the firmware on your player uses hidden files like this. I don't have those files handy--you may try searching online forums for onther m4008a users.
My daughter's was doing this. We found out that there is a button on the side of the player that says hold. She had turned it on hold, by accident. As soon as we turned it off, it worked fine. This "hold" button is for when pocketing it, so the battery doesn't run down.
