Question about HP Compaq nc6000 Notebook

1 Answer

Touch pad Good Afternoon, I have a used NC6000 and we have had it for a week and now having problems with the mouse pad. It seems to go where it wants as you are touching it. Any ideas on how to correct this? Or how to install new one? Thanks Paula

Go to my computer, right click, properties, device manager, look down list for mouse and pointing devices, click '+' sign, you will see your touchpad listed, right click select uninstal, then restart notebook it will reinstall itself and should be working as normal.

How to turn of touchpad in nc6220

There doesn't seem to be an actual off function however if you want it permanently off you could take apart the chassis and disconnect the cable which runs from the touch pad to the motherboard. This is not recomended as you will most likely want to use the touch pad again some day

Mouse wont move

Are you referring to the mouse pointer when using the touch pad? To isolate the problem, try to use a USB mouse and see if the pointer will move. If the USB mouse works, then the touch pad could be disabled.

Refer to the user manual of the laptop and see on how you can enable the touch pad.

If same problem occur even though you're using a USB mouse, contact the manufacturer of the computer for second opinion or repair.

Good luck and have a great day!
