Question about Caere OmniForm Filler 4.0 (3609A-G04-4.0) for PC

Registration for Omniform Filler 4.0

I have had Omniform 4.0 since 2001. It now says I have to re register. My last re register number was 34624546 . When I punch this in to the requested spot, it just says ; Invalid Registration #. I punched in serial #, but no luck. Appreciate any help George Roorda I have omniform 4.0. purchased sometime in the 1990. I upgraded my computor and though i could bring the program acrost from the old drive. However it does not scan. I tried to re install the program. I enter the serial number 8302431 but it will not except this number.

    I gave you my money and got a registration # but cannot find the location to enter the Registration Number. If I do not have this matter resolved I will call my credit card carrier and have the purchase cancelled.

The following information explains all of the numbers associated with your ScanSoft product:

  • A Serial number identifies your product. It is located on the product's packaging, usually on a small sticker attached to the back of the CD-ROM envelope or case. If you purchased your ScanSoft product on-line, and downloaded directly to your computer, then you should receive on e-mail with your serial number. A ScanSoft serial number usually looks like one of these:
    • DDDDL-LDD-DDDDDD (e.g. 2889A-C00-123456)
    • LLDDDDDDD (e.g. ZA1234567)
    Where D is a digit from 0 to 9, and L is a letter from A to Z.
    If you find that you need to order a replacement CD of your Caere product, then you can call our Customer Service department at 1-800-654-1187. You may need your PIN or proof of purchase available.
  • A Part number also appears on the product packaging. It is used by Caere to internally track products and is usually not important in regards to the customer. A ScanSoft part number usually looks like this:
    • DDD-DDDD-DDDL (e.g. 878-1234-456A)
  • A Key number appears only when your OmniPage, OmniForm, or PageKeeper product detects that you should register your product. The Key number will appear usually near the Registration number (see next description), when the product is prompting you to register. All Key numbers consist of eight digits.(e.g. 12345678)
  • A Registration number is generated from your Serial and Key numbers. AllRegistration numbers consist of eight digits. (e.g. 87654321) To get a registrationnumber, you can:
    • If you have a modem or internet connection, use the Register menu on your toolbar.
    • Register on the ScanSoft home page at www.ScanSoft.com.
    • For users in the US or Canada, you can call, toll free, 1-888-237-6552.
    • For users outside of the US and Canada, please go to the ScanSoft Registrationpage and select the language you prefer.
  • A Re-Registration number is issued after registering your PaperPort, OmniPage, OmniForm, or PageKeeper product. If you have to reinstall your product, enter the Re-Registration number into the software's re-registration screen, so you won't be prompted to register again. All Re-Registration numbers consist of eight digits (e.g. 14725836).
ScanSoft's ImageAXS products also use Registration numbers, but in a way completely different from other ScanSoft products. ImageAXS Registrationnumbers are functionally identical to a Serial number (see previous description), and are otherwise unrelated to registering.
  • A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is used by ScanSoft to track customers. When you register through ScanSoft's Web site or call ScanSoft Product Support, you are issued a PIN number so you can be quickly located you in the ScanSoft database. Each customer should have a single, unique PIN number, even if multiple ScanSoft products are registered to that customer. A ScanSoft PIN is usually a number between 4 and 8 digits long.

Re- installing the product requires you to key-in the Serial Number that came with the product packaging.

Okay. If the Program Compatibility Assistant says this, it is safe to say IGNORE IT. I'm running desktop architect on a windows 7 machine and I don't care. Neither should the PC. But if performance issues result, you need to nix it. But as you said, same PC. No problems. It's just Microsoft's way of ranting about software it doesn't like.

I use Omniform 4.0 for OCR document storage in Windows Vista. I am having trouble emailing these docs as an attachment to Windows Mail. What do I have to do to be able to email these documents this way?


First off, I assume that you know that Omniform is a database program. We use it at my work, and everyone believes that it is just a way of filling out a form and printing it. Everything that is entered is saved in a database (usually hidden) and is then accessbile through the form.

Now that's out of the way. To email a form, you will have to add the actual .ofm file as an attachment, and mail it to your recipient. They will have to also have omniform to open the file.

Your other option is to export the form fields (from the file>export menu in omniform). It'll give you a little hassle about deciding on which fields to export, and how you want them exported (MS excel, dbase, ect). Once you export them, they will be in a matching filetype (ie .xls or whatever you exported them as) format. Add this file as an attachment, and sent it through your mail to your recipient.

I know this all seems like a bit of a pain, but honestly, Omniform is a great program. I've used it for 6 years, and had very few problems with it. Word to the wise, its easier to just attach your .ofm files and send them as email, rather than using the build in "sent to mail recipient" that is built into the omniform program.

Let me know if you have any further questions. This is one program that i've had to take apart, reassemble, build forms, ect for numerous people.

My company uses Omniform filler ver 4.0 on all the PC's in the company to fill in forms. One new computer has Windows 7. The program loads OK but wont open any of the forms. I get error message The...


I just installed windows 7 on every computer on my network, and I am only having a problem with one form. I still have an old Windows XP machine and I can access that form from that computer. I don't understand why one form doesnt work but the rest of the omniforms work.

You could always search on google for "omniform filler torrent"
the use of torrent/filesharing sites can be illegal, so its up to you

Cannot open program


For my Client he needed administrator rights to his account on my companies network. i tried having him as a power user that did not work, he needed administrator rights. once he had those rights, he was able to work in Omniform; even though it said that error i had told you all about when he was a Remote user\user.
