I'm assuming this is a desktop motherboard? Make sure the plug for power is connected and tight. It is refuses to work see if you have another slot and try moving it to the free spot.

If it still doesn't work: 1. make sure your monitor is connected properly and turned on 2. if possible try the monitor on another machine to make sure it's not the monitor itself

If the monitor works correctly on something else and you've tried the above than it's likely that the video card itself died and needs replacing.

Device could not start

what device? is *********** board won't start? Or a hardware doesn't start like ram or your printer
If the problem is your motherboard check all your hardwares and connectors like this:
  1. If the motherboard won't start if you click the power button check the LED(the small light bulb on your motherboard) if its glowing. If not, check the connector of your power supply or check the power supply if its working by looking its fan if revolving.
  2. If you push the button and there's a sign of power but didn't start up that will appear on your screen check the connection of your monitor screen to your desktop computer. If it's connected, remove your RAM from the motherboard and insert it to another memory slot to check if it's broken.
  3. Last, if you push the power button and here 1 short beep but the boot screen didn't appeared from your screen check your graphic card. Remove the graphic card and re-insert it again to its graphic card slot and plug in your monitor connector to it. If it still remain that way, buy a new graphic card.

My gateway laptop didn't start up,when powered on only black screen appears

Hi jeangray 17,

If you see power lights but nothing appears on the screen, it could be a "POST" (Power-on Self Test) problem or simply LCD problem.

Here are some steps that you can try.

1. Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to drain electric charges left from the system. (You may need to repeat this step to get it work.)

2. If above step doesn't work, try to plug in an external monitor and see if you get display from the external monitor. You may need to press the Fn + F10 or F6, depends on the key designed on the keyboard to toggle between displays.

3. If you get display from the external monitor, I'm sure your having problem with the LCD components. In this case, check and replace faulty LCD backlight, LCD cable or LCD inverter. The LCD inverter is often a culprit.

4. Try to reinsert the memory module/s (RAM) of the unit, try using one RAM at a time to see if it works. A faulty RAM will cause the issue not to POST.

5. If reinserting the RAM doesn't help, most likely your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

No display when the computer is tuned on

try to release the memory (ram) from *********** board, turn on your pc without any ram, and you should hear a sound beep (voice) if there is any sound the problem is on your ram (memory), clean your ram using a pencil eraser or replace with a new one, if there is still no display maybe the problem is with your vga (display adapter), but if you didn't hear any sounds when your memory (ram) was release the problems is in *********** board or your processor..

hope this post can give you any solutions.. thank you

Hi, when i power on it shows in brown color, (blink in brown) nothing dispalys, i changed ps, memory, processor. but didn work out

The only thing that's left is your motherboard. The usual culprit in a black out mode is the power supply and the motherboard. Try using a certified good motherboard. Try also to check on the display card. Also, check for compatibility of the power supply, the motherboard, the processor, display card and the memory

I have Display problem in vt 8233a motherboard

Problem often occurs on a computer display, usually the problem as a hardware malfunction.
way to identifying it is to perform tests on computer hardware (troubleshooting)
> Sweep ram slot with a small brush or small paint brush is not used (new)
> After cleaning the ram slot, use the eraser to clean the copper surface on the ram you are.
> When you're done, plug the ram in the slot. (If you have a new ram to do the troubleshooting is better)
> Reattach the power source on your computer and then switch on your computer.
> Still not working?
> If you use the display card, remove the display card and do the same as you did on your ram and ram slots.
(If you're not using the display card, the better you get the display card to make the process of troubleshooting)
>Turn on your computer.
(If your computer is still experiencing the same problem though has to do the troubleshooting on the display card)
> Get at / ATX new power supply to do troubleshooting, (damage to the power supply will also cause the computer not display
>Turn on your computer.
If the computer still can not function normally means that you have the problem still appears,This requires you to perform more detailed troubleshooting process.
Firstly, you need to provide a motherboard and processor is still working (new) to do this process. If you already have all the equipment, you can start to make the process of troubleshooting your hardware one by one.I believe there is enough equipment for you to perform troubleshooting, problem you will be able to identify you and you will be able to solve by itself.
Hope this can help solve your problem.
