Re: Edit problem with scan page.
I personally like to use paint shop pro for all my editing I ushally scan all my images in and then open them all with paint shop pro and do all my editing croping ect from there.
There is alot of photo editing programs out there you will probably have to find some downloads for trial software ushally cnet's http://www.download.com is a great place to find them.
you gotta find one that works for you. I have used so many myself being a web designer and let me tell you theres some really bad programs out there that only do half the stuff you want and is not very well where as the paint shop pro or the adobe photoshop are easy to get around in and well I find the funest programs for editing simple and quickly.
Good luck to you and hope this helps.

To edit information on a scanned document you must use a OCR (Optical character recognition) software. This will make the scanned document into a word file, and thus allowing you to edit it. Most OCR software are expensive unless one was provided with the printer.
Also, if you are scanning in as a PDF, most of the time you will not be able to edit it due to limitations with software. Most computers only have PDF Reader, unless you specifically purchased Adobe Acrobat full version (retail price $300)
The Lexmark OCR scan software allows you to scan documents to your computer. It enables you to scan to PDF or scan a document and convert to text to edit. The Lexmark OCR scan software is only available in the install disk that came with your printer. Please contact Lexmark technical support for assistance. Thanks.
Hi. You will need the OCR software installed in your computer. It is only available in the installation cd that came with your printer. The software is not available for download, even from the Lexmark website. If you have installed the scan software already, just open up the Lexmark Productivity Studio(for Windows) or All-in-One Center (for Macintosh)and choose Scan to Edit or Scan using OCR so that you can edit your scanned document. Hope this helps. Good luck!
There is a software in the HP CD which is called an OCR software. This is Optical Character recognition. Only with the help of the software you will be able to edit the scanned documents. This software ded not gets installed with the drivers so pleas check this in the CD. Also you can try fine reader software for editing your documnets. You will be able to find it on google
If it truely has an optical character reader(OCR) built into the scaner it would not provide the software for it since the software is rather a large program an cost in excess of $100 just by itself.

It is important that the item you scan comes in close contact with the scanner glass. If the resulting scanned image is not clear, check to see that the item is in full contact with the scanner glass.
The scanner uses optical character recognition (OCR) to convert text on a page to text that you can edit on your computer.
If you scan text but cannot edit it, make sure that you make the following selections during scanning:
Scanned text might not appear on your computer exactly as it appeared on the original, especially if the original contains faint or smudged text. For example, some characters might be incorrect or missing. As you edit the text, compare the scanned text against the original, and then make corrections as necessary.
To change text scanning options, click the Scan Document Settings button in the initial What are you scanning? screen.
The OCR software is installed by default when you install the HP Scanning software during scanner setup. If you use the Custom option when installing the software, you can choose not to install the OCR software. Try reinstalling the software using the default install options.
A scanned document is an image file. As for an image doesn't allow tekst editing like an application such as Word does, you'll need OCR software.(Optical Character Recognition). This software is intelligent enought to read character instead of pixels.
i believe this is called OCR scanning, character recognition so that the text can be edited in text editors. I have not used works to know if it has a text capture feature but I'm aware of scanning software that offer OCR capabilities, i used to have that on my old scanner, i do not remember the name of the software but here's what google turned up for OCR scanning: http://www.google.ca/search?q=OCR+scanning&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
