I had same problem, then I drop it to the solid ground about 1 feet high, and then it works again. Really. I think it is either caused by poor internal connection or anti-shock function that make it cannot access the internal Hard Drive.

My Nuvi 200W stuck in boot process

This most likely means that a part of the software on your gps system is corrupted and unreadable. You will need to update it/re-install the software on it. To do that, you can download this software which will automatically search for the latest updates: http://www.tomtom.com/services/service.php?id=16&tab=87

Garmin Nuvi 770, Unit powers on, touch screen works, then it won't, then it does, then it wont, then...you get the idea.

There is a reset button under the frame around the screen. Carefully pry the frame up, there is a fingernail slot at one point. Once up, push the reset button and you may be back in business. If reset does not do it, you will have to go to garmin.com and speak with a tech from the service center on how to proceed.

Jvc kv-px9b showing id:4100 even after reset

The Reset won't make ID:4100 go away. I had same problem, then I dropped it to the solid ground about 1 feet high (on purpose), and then, to my surprise, it works again. Really. I think it is either caused by poor internal connection or anti-shock function that make it cannot access the internal Hard Drive.

Cant delete gpx files from 705 edge memory. done all usuall stuff on pc, even tried deleting gpx folder but routes still appear in saved rides when unit re-powered up. any ideas anyone?

Only one idea ... Perform hard reset. Garmin devices have often data corruption issue, that can only be solved by return to factory settings :
Device powered off, press and hold mode and Power on buttons for 10 seconds, then pulse press lap/reset button.

You will be asked for confirmation, confirm, your device should be OK then.
Also update the firmware, you'll get last fixes for data corruption ... (does not mean there are none remaining ...)

Turned on NUVI 310 this morning and it has a 7mm white stripe running vertically down LHS of screen; when used last time it worked fine. Have tried powering on-off several times together with reseting unit...

Thanks Jim - I have returned the unit as still covered under warranty; the garmin tech suggested a hardware problem so your diagnosis is on the mark. Apprecaite your posting. Cheers.

Garmin c330 freezing

I am happy to say my problem seems to have been solved. I found 3 possible solutions during my search - may need to try all of them to see if it works. 1) Reset by pressing the button under the faceplate. (Did not work for me). 2) Master reset - switch off the unit and press on the right bottom corner of the LCD and switch it on. Release the power button when it powers on, while pressing on the R lower corner. This is supposed to erase all prior data. I could not master reset my unit, for whatever reason. 3) Software update: http://www8.garmin.com/support/collectio... If you are a windows user you will want software version 2.4.1 as of April 3 2007. This worked for me. Thanks.
