Its the problem of T-STAT but before replacing the T-STAT please get the other parts or the circuit board checked because something is short in the board so the T-STAT is been affected both the times.if you will directlt replace T-STAT there are chances it may go faulty again after some days due to short tracking.so reparing that shorttracking before replacement is very much necessary.

pls do rate the solution

thanks.

Hi,

It's not cool If the refrigerator isn't cool, you need to answer some questions, then see if the compressor is running.

First, answer these questions:

  • Is the refrigerator completely dead? If so, see “It's stopped completely.”

  • Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.

Next, see if the compressor motor is running

Thecompressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It'son the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If itis humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is stillnot cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more ofseveral different components, we recommend contacting a qualifiedappliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:

  • The compressor

  • The Thermostat

  • The overload, relay, or capacitor

  • The defrost timer

  • The condenser fan motor

Cooling is poor Foran overall understanding of how refrigerators should work, read aboutrefrigerators in the How Things Work section of our website. Arefrigerator or freezer that is cooling, but cooling poorly, may have aproblem in one of several areas:

Evaporator coils
Condenser
Poorcooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporatorcoils or a condenser that is clogged with dust, lint, and dirt.

Evaporator coils Poorcooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporatorcoils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the insideof your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build-up is the presenceof any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling ofthe freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in theself-defrosting system or damaged door gaskets.

The refrigeratoris supposed to self-defrost approximately four times in every 24 hourperiod. If one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails, the refrigerator continues to try to cool. Eventually, though, so muchfrost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can'tdraw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of coolingbecause the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, coolingin the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.

Here's aninexpensive, though inconvenient, way to determine if the problem iswith the self-defrosting system. Remove all of the perishable food fromthe refrigerator and freezer, turn the thermostat in the refrigeratorto Off, and leave the doors open for 24 to 48 hours. (Be sure to haveseveral towels ready in case the melting frost and ice causes the drippan to overflow). This allows the refrigerator to defrost "manually."When the frost and ice build-up has completely melted away, turn thethermostat back to a normal setting. If the refrigerator then coolsproperly, it indicates a problem with one of three components in theself-defrosting system:

  • The defrost timer

  • The defrost thermostat (also called the bi-metal switch)

  • The defrost heater

Ifit still does not cool properly, there may be a problem with therefrigerant level or the compressor. You may need to consult with aqualified appliance repair technician to further diagnose the problem

Condenser Self-defrostingrefrigerators all have a set of coils and a cooling fan, usually underthe refrigerator, that need to be cleaned regularly. If these coils getcoated with dust, dirt or lint, the refrigerator may not cool properly. The coils may appear to be a thin, black, wide radiator-like devicebehind the lower kick-panel. To clean them, disconnect the refrigeratorfrom the power source, use a refrigerator condenser brush (see theAppliance Accessories section) and your vacuum cleaner to clean thecoils of any lint, pet hair, etc. You may not be able to get to all ofthe condenser from the front, it may be necessary to clean theremainder of the condenser from the rear of the refrigerator.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

It leaks
The freezer compartment is icing up
The food in the refrigerator freezes

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

Sub zero 532. freezer works fine --0 degrees. fridge wont get below 50 degrees. cleaned condenser fins- still no decrease in temp

check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly

you might have a few problems,, make sure to check the condensor is clean, also make sure the condensor fan motor is going... you might have a bad Condensor fan motor, and Ref Control or a Freon Leak @ the Evaporator... I would call a tech to check it out...

First do the simple things like cleaning the condensor coils and turning the defrost timer a few times, also check the evaporator motor or just listen to the fan by opening the freezer door. Also check the light switch, make sure it turns the light off every time you close the door.
