Too late, you'll have to get rid of it because the smell has been absorbed into the insulations....and when you bleackh the inside cabinet, the warm food will absorbe the smell again.

Smells like gas...!

I am not sure what the deal is, as this is a 10,000 btu air conditioning unit. No gas in this unit except for the freon gas in the system which is not harmful unless ingested? If you had it stored and it was on its side, this could cause a problem for sure. This would cause the oil and freon to mix causing a failure in the compressor, we call a burn out. The fan would blow air but not cold air and would have a terrible smell. If you have a thermometer to check the air temp. would be helpful. If it is blowing warm or room temp air, then you could have a problem with the compressor.Even though it may have worked before, by just turning it back on could have caused a failure. The only thing that would be dangerous, is a wiring problem of some kind, and I know you have smelled burning insulation. If it is cooling good, and you dont see any problems with the unit, go ahead and use it for a few days more and if the smell continues, take it down to an appliance repair shop and let them take a smell.Dono't use it at night when you are sleeping, or when you leave the house untill you know that it is ok.Wish I were there to see it for myself.
Sincerely, shastalaker7

Milk lunch meats freezing

I have to assume you mean on the top shelf of a refrigerator. If so, then you need to look for the air vent(s) that are usually in the rear of frig compartment either on back wall or under the frig compartment ceiling. These vents are pouring very cold air from the freezer and the air needs to get distributed throughout the frig, however the coldness is falling on the milk or meats that are in the way (getting hit with the cold before the air is disipated within the frig).
Three options: if the air vent(s) have a movable or directional cover, then redirect the air so it blows away from the food on the shelves. If there is no movable cover, perhaps adjusting the freezer control (not the frigerator control) to the next colder freezer setting; this will reduce excess cold flow pouring into the frig. 3rd, make a shield of plastic or metal or cardboard to divert the direct cold flow of the air vent from falling on the upper shelves.

New Mastercool pads smell bad

The cellulose pads in a mastercool are glued together and usually the adhesive is what you smell. It may take a while for it to go away. Strange as it may seem, as the pads get more mineralization and you use it more the smell will go away. Do not use a cooler for your whole house without plenty of exhaust through a window or an updux. Coolers work best when there is plenty of freely moving air.

HEAT PUMP/AIR CONDITIONER UNIT SMELLS ONLY WHEN AIR IS ON

Not sure what the smell...smells like.  My guess is dirt or dust near the heating elements.  These will cause a burning smell.  Sometimes insects even get into the act..building webs.
You will have to clean that area out...sometimes a large blower or vac can dislodge the dust.
