Question about Alpine CDA-9856 CD Player

1 Answer

CD changer will not mix discs randomly

I figured out how to get my cda-9856 unit to play the tracks on one disc of the six disc changer at random. The instruction manual indicates there is a way to get the changer to randomly select from each of the discs in the changer, rather than limit it to just random selections from a single disc. I have not been able to enable the random selection.

Cda-9885 ipod not searching

I had the same problem. I got it resolved by making the MIX OFF. Just press the button number 5 to make the MIX (Random Play)ON/OFF. After the search you can set the MIX to ON. However set the MIX to off before you start any search every time.

Skipping

Alpine must be taken apart.
Clean those rails and give some lube jobs.
While you're inside, clean the laser head's window.

It's not that hard.

MP3 CD's

Sometime when put too many file in a cd then the scond half of the cd get corrupt. Try play that cd in another player see if it work. Certain unit could only read certain compressed size file too small and it would be view as corrupted.
