Question about Fisher and Paykel Fisher Paykel Intuitive Eco Washer IWL15

Follow up to your front loader question (from mozaltoff)

The timer does not seem to complete a cycle. upon further examination, the pump is not mechanically jammed and seems to spin freely. but the water will not drain (we let the water spill out when we checked the pump) there are a few audible clicks when we try to start the machine, but that is all. it "senses" that things are not working right after a few minutes and shuts itself down.
thanks for keeping with us on this.

The fact that the timer would not complete its cycle indicates that is defective, and because your washer is not draining this may be cause by a clogged water pump.

Test the timer motor by setting your meter to the ohm and test the two motor wirers-should read between 1,000 to 3,000 if not replace.

If won't drain remove the outlet drain hose from the water pump to see if water drains freely, if not your pump is clogged.

Good luck

Clothes are sopping wet even after doing the spin cycle 3 and 4 times, water is going through hose fine it seems, it a front loader

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Wher is the pump on a front loader

It depends upon the model number, but MOST front loader washers have a drain pump located directly below the wash tub behind the lower toe panel directly below the door. To remove the panel, locate and remove the screws under the bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will come off, exposing the drain pump and internal components. If you need further guidance, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Water is coming out of the bottom during the rinse cycle Do I need certified repairman or could I fix it?

Is this a FRONT LOADER? Or, is this a TOP LOADER?

If this is a FRONT LOADER, the following link explains what you have to do to determine the source of a leak:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

In most cases on a FRONT LOADER, leaks are caused by the rubber door bellow developing small rips or tears due to age and wear. If the bellow is leaking, it must be replaced. The following link explains the steps necessary to do so:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

If you have a leak on a TOP LOADER, the most common cause is a worn drain pump, leaking drain hoses or the hose to the air dome has come loose. You will need to remove the exterior case of the washer to be sure. DO NOT lay the washer on its back. The gearcase contains oil and it may leak through the breather hole.

The following link explains how to inspect a TOP LOADER for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

If the drain pump is leaking, it is not serviceable and must be replaced, the following link explains how to replace one:

Replacement parts (if required) may be purchased on line at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare.

Read through the instructions provided and let me know if you need further assistance. The choice is yours if you wish to pursue this repair on your own. In my opinion, you don't need a "certified repairman" to find the source of a leak in most cases. Many of these repairs are simple with a little guidance. Please post back with a complete MODEL NUMBER so that I may be able to povide you with better assistance. I hope this help you.

Washer is leaking under front right corner at the end of rinse cycle--occurs following all wash cycles--does not do it on ''rinse only'' cycle.

Whether this is a TOP LOADER, or a FRONT LOADER, the drain pump is located directly below the wash tub in the front of the washer. Accessing either one takes, different procedures, however.

To access the pump on a TOP LOADER, you must remove the exterior washer casing. Follow the steps provided in this link:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3631789-washer_case_removal_whirlpool_top

If this is a FRONT LOADER, you must remove the lower toe panel directly below the door. Follow the steps provided in this link:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574350-replacing_the_drain_pump_in_a_front_load

The Kenmore Oasis is a different configuration from the two I've mentioned. There are two pumps on the Oasis. One is a drain pump, while the other is a recirc pump. Both are accessible by removing the rear panel of the washer.

If you require further assistance, please post back with a complete model number so I can determine how your washer is configured. I hope you find this information helpful.

Machine won't fill with water

Check that the inlet screens on the water supply are not clogged.
Make sure the water is for certain turned on (assuring nothing has changed).

If those are not found to be the problem, then it could be the fill valve(s) or the timer control.

Reply back what you find, and I can help you further.

Front loader washing machine is not draining

Based upon your description, the drain pump has either failed or become clogged.
To check the pump, remove the bottom access panel. There you will find access to the pump clean-out.(Large,white screw cap) Be prepared to catch lots of water. CAREFULLY AND S_L_O_W_L_Y unscrew the pump clean-out, catching and discarding the water. When the water flow finally stops, completely remove the clean-out filter. Inspect the clean-out filter, the drain hose from the tub as well as inside the pump impeller for any additional debris.

If you need further assistance, let me know
