That is not oil.....its thermal burns. Thermal burns happen when the eyepiece cap is not used. Sunlight burns the surface of the LCD display. This is permanent damage. Cleaning will not fix this. The repair center can fix.

?why do only a few keys work on the remote

Some remote as they live on around your house area, they gather up dirt, or any debris laying around the house

I found some steps while searching around, here they are-

1 . Remove any batteries out of your remote control.

2 . Check over the remote control and remove any screws keeping the remote together.

3. Once you have it open, make a note of any switches or loose pieces so you will know where they go when you put the remote back together.

4. Clean the circuit board and keypad to remove any dirt and oil. An old toothbrush works. Check, after cleaning, if the remote is working again; dirt could be the only problem.

5. Clean the buttons, blow off any dirt inside the remote.

Nails skipping

Usually caused by debris in the small air passage from inside of gun to feeder piston. Easy to check. Remove the head and pull out the cylinder. Debris in the chamber is usually small pieces of oring or the lower bumper is coming apart. This debris will enter passage to feeder which is visible at bottom of chamber. If debris is found, clean chamber, passage, and feeder chamber. Debris will lodge on the oring between the body and nose. Clean and replace parts as needed. If the gun was found to be clean inside, suspect weak or missing feeder spring/s. Good luck/

TOSHIBA 57LX177 SHADOW SPOT CENTER OF SCREEN

If my research is correct you recently replaced the lamp and then the "shadow spot center of screen" appeared.

Three possible reasons I can think of for this:

Something wrong with new lamp or on face of lamp--never touch the face of a lamp as oil from you hand can leave a residue and damage the lamp or cause a image issue.

Something inside on the optical lens or even the mirror causing this--not likely but possible.

A defect in the optical light engine in the set---usually if heat which comes from the lamp damages the engine it will be a color and not black---engine has a series of lens and baffles inside that heat can damage--causes minute separation inside of the lens etc.

If the old lamp works at all try putting it back to see if same issue--did you replace just the "bulb" in the housing or the whole cartridge?

If remove new lamp look at it and where it faces--usually a clear lens faces it and if some dirt on that..........

Tamron AF 18-200MM XR Di II LD dust inside; how do I clean?

Dust and other small debris is drawn into the lens due to the vacuum created when zooming in. You can reduce the chances of drawing in dust and debris by slowly zooming in as opposed to rapidly zooming in.

Now that you how it gets in and how to help prevent it from getting in again, comes the bad news. There's really no way to disassemble the lens to clean it up at home. These are precision optics with many small moving parts that really need to be serviced in a dust free environment. You best bet it to contact Tamron (or authorized servicer) to learn how much it will cost to be cleaned by them. This will keep the warranty (if any) intact, too.

Good luck!

The lens of my samsung es55 is stuck inside, i have tried moving it to make it centered but it didnt work. it comes out a tiny bit then there is one beep and it goes back inside. i saw a lens for this...

Hi,

It is unlikely that the lens itself is causing this problem. It is more likely to be a problem with the lens gearing which may be misaligned or obstructed by a tiny piece of debris.

These problems are also common with a camera that is not powering up correctly. To troubleshoot the issue further please view this FixYa tip that I wrote on the issue which is quite comprehensive in covering the fixes an ordinary consumer can reasonably try.

When i open up the camera app. i see black specs all over the screen, it looks like dirt in there or something. Is there a way to clean it?

Three possibilities..
1. Dirt on the outside of the lens. Clean it with a lens cloth.
2. Something got inside the lens somehow. Do not take it apart yourself. Have a proffesional clean it.
3. The LCD screen is bad.

Piece of dirt in the lens!

Gently tap the lens with a stick and see if the dirt will fall to the side. It may of course migrate back, but as long as it doesn't stick to the lens, it will be out of the way for most pictures when the aperture closes. If it is stuck to the lens, have it professionally cleaned, OR take consulation in the fact that closer dirt is to the "optical center" of a lens, the less effect it has on normal pictures- pictures of bright objects are different though

Hi,
It indicates your lens is getting stuck inside .

First go with hard reset . Remove the batteries and insert new batteries . This in most case works well .If your problem still persists then check for the following :
* Carefully inspect around it for dirt or debris.
If you see any dirt or debris around the lens, use canned air to gently blow it away.
* After removing dirt and debris, turn the camera on and off.
This should work.

If your problem still continues you need to contact the service center to get your problem solved .

Hope this helps
