Check your dvd burner's support site. Vista should be able to automatically search for a driver though.

What dvd burner will work with my dell dimension 4700

There shouldn't be any issue with grabbing a random DVD Burner and popping it into your machine. As long as the DVD Burning software is compatible with the current Operating System, and as long as you have the approprite driver software (which usually comes with the DVD burner these days)

I have a HP Media Center PC M7360n had to replace dvd burner and media card now my speakers will not work drivers say every thing is working but I have no sound

What OS are you using? If this is a Vista machine, try to roll back the sound drivers. Vista is notorious for not being compatible with certain drivers and will set them to update if you use automatic updating. You could have installed a driver with replacement DVD burner / media card and they don't get along with a new or old sound driver. Check HP help and support online to see if they have newer driver for sound. And if you have sound card, check with manufacture for updated drivers.

Check the DVD RW manual to check whether its compatible to Vista platform, if not, then change it to one which is Vista compatible( its the problems in the driver section. Vista is built not to accept any driver other than what comes with the package[OS])......sodeep

hi malih the dvd drive OEmd in your computer does not have vista drivers, best if you have it uninstalled and reinstalled with a generic drivers from the manufacturer of the dvd drive. better if you can replace it with a vista compatible drive instead.

hope this helps, if you have other questions please let us know.

Sonic record now program will not find cd drive

  1. Update your drive's firmware/drivers. Most companies regularly update their firmware and drivers. If you are unsure what model your burner is and its firmware, click here to find out.

  2. Enable DMA. Direct Memory Access enables better efficiency of data. For more info, check how to enable DMA.
  3. Your media. Check the following:
    • The disc is clean and unused.
    • The media is recommended by your burner's manufacturer or try a different brand, preferably a name brand, if you continue to have problems.
    • Make sure that media (-R/+R, -/+RW, dual-layer compatibility) is supported by the burner by checking burner's manual or manufacturer's website. This is especially true for some Blu-Ray burners which do not support CD-R/RW media.

  4. Lower the write speed of your burner.
  5. If your burner is external, make sure it is connected directly to the computer via USB/Firewire and not a hub or other other device like a sound card.
  6. Update to the latest PX Engine. The PX Engine improves compatibility with newer burners on the market.
  7. A reinstall of the burner's drivers may also help.
    • Windows XP: Go to My Computer and choose Properties.
    • Windows Vista: Go to Start --> Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Device Manager.
    • Click on the Hardware tab.
    • Select Device Manager
    • Expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives, then select your burner and uninstall it by right -licking on it.
    • Reboot.

Roxio easy cd & dvd creator will not install on windows vista

That's very true of a lot of software. You need to buy a later version that is Vista compatible. If you purchased your program from Roxio, they might offer some kind of upgrade price. There are also several free open-source CD/DVD burner programs available for download that you could look into. A Google search will help you locate some possibilities.

Okay, lets first solve your DVD problem. First of all do you have a DVD burner? If so read on. Next is the burner an internal burner or external burner? If it is an internal burner contact the company for the drivers. If it is an external device see if it came with a CD. If it did install it, if not Add the hardware to your computer with the add hardware wizard. If you need instructions just tell me.

I get an error that shuts down Adobe Premiere elements

Hi Linda Green

This is a powerful piece of software and needs your P C to have some certain specs or forget it really. It sounds like that the software is detecting that you mightr need have the correct spec, or it could be the installation of the software it's self, in which case you will need to totally unistall it and then start from begkining and reinstall it. Also least likely could be a firewall, anti-virus program interfering with it, I would ask, when it closes do you get anything tellking you a reason or just the program disappearing. Check out the site below for first hand information and free bits to go with it, plus there's a list of minimum spec your computer must have for the program just to function.
