First bit of advice is to Turn on your projector and check the bulb and make sure that it has not burned out. Next if you have determined that it is not the bulb, I will continue t see what I an do. Also how lonng have you had your TV? If you determin that it is the bulb you can purchase a replacement from the website below.

There is a resistor on the CRT board that goes bad sometimes. If you have a multimeter, you can check the resistors if you know how the color coding works on these resistors. If you do not, take the set to a repair shop, as this problem, if this is the problem, should not cost that much to replace a 10 cent resistor.

OR try this one

Things You’ll Need:

  • Owner's manual
  • Tools

Step1 Consult your TV’s troubleshooting guide. Follow its recommended steps. Most problems can be fixed by troubleshooting.

Step2
Diagnose what's wrong with your TV. There are many TV repair tip websites on the Internet you can consult, like the "Notes on the Troubleshooting and Repair of Television Sets" website

Step3
Get your TV’s service manual to find a diagram of your TV’s circuits. You can get a service manual through a retailer that sells your TV brand or through an online store like tvdiagrams.com

Step4
Gather the necessary tools. For most projections TVs you'll need a Phillips head and a flathead screwdriver to remove the back shell. You may also need a digital multimeter to test the circuits.

Step5
Know the common problems and fixes for a projection TV.

Step6 Unplug your TV’s power cord from the electrical outlet and disconnect any peripheral devices like a DVD player or cable box. Place your television screen-down on a soft surface.
Step7 Remove the screws that connect the back shell to the rest of the TV. Then pull the shell up and off the TV carefully. Set it aside.
Step8 Consult your TV’s service manual to find the part that you need to replace or repair.
Step9 Place the shell back on the TV once your repairs are finished. Replace each screw to secure the shell to the TV.
Step10 Plug your power cord back into the electrical outlet and test your TV. If your repairs weren't successful, it may be time to consult a professional.

Tips & Warnings
  • Work in a spacious, dry and well-ventilated area. This will give you room to work, avoid the possibility of electrocution and help remove any fumes that are created during the repair process.
  • There are many TV repair guides online. Make sure the guide you use is applicable to your type of TV.
  • Unless you have at least a basic knowledge of electronics, don't try to repair a TV on your own. You may damage your TV further or injure yourself.
  • Electrical charges can stay in cords and circuits even after being removed from their power source. Always use rubber gloves to avoid electrocution.

hope that helps!

cheers

I'm sorry, but there is littel help we can provide without the make and model number. There are numerous reasons for no picture. Can you please provide some additional details? For example, is there any blinking of a stanby light? Do you hear the high voltage startup (snapping like sound)?

Thanks,
Dan

Since this is a DLP machine, there is not CRT board. Please try replacing the lamp first. If you have the owner's manual, there should be a listing under the heading Troubleshooting that indicates what the blinking means. The most common cause of no picture for these is a bad lamp. The next most likely cause of the light engine. Since the lamp is the least expensive and the most common, check that first. Also, be sure that the fans is working and the area is clear of dust and dirt.

    Keep us posted.

Hi,

If you turn the tv off for about 1020 seconds, turn it back on and see if you have a clear picture, if not it sound like a power supply problem in the tv. but if that did not solve the problem, the picture board on your tv is now malfunctioning or as gone bad, it means the picture board of your tv has developed fault and will need to be replace.

I advice you replace the picture board on the screen of your tv to solve the problem.

If this set is still within the warranty period, return it for warranty service. Since this is an intermittant problem, I would request an exchange. If they won't exchange the set (even after going up the chain of management), provide specifics about the problem. State up front that this is an intermittant problem. Once reported, the warranty kicks in even if the problem doesn't become hard and fast until after the warranty has expired since the initial report occurred before the warranty expiration. This is not a problem caused by external devices.
