You can get rid of this message by entering the monitor setup by pressing the MENU button. Then use the DOWN arrow button to go to 'setup'. MENU, then DOWN again to 'Resolution Notification'. MENU, then DOWN to choose the 'off' setting. Voila!

Monitor stays orange

If you are getting the same results with another monitor, then the video card is most likely bad. If this is an inigrated card (with out a model number of the computer I can't tell), and you have an available slot (again model would let me know this, be complete when asking for help); you can add a graphics card to the computer. Plug your monitor into the new card, install the software, and you should be good to go.

My dell 4700 won't come out of sleep mode, i've rebooted and changed the internal battery but still no luck

Get some canned air - 2 cans
unplug the monitor and computer.
Use canned air to blow out all the vent holes of the monitor.
Leave it unplugged for about 1 day.
Open the computer case. Use the canned air to blow out the computer. pay special attention to fans and the power supply - actuall blow the air through the power supply vents on both sides.
If you have an add on video card (not on the motherboard), remove the screw at the back of the case, and remove the video card. Reinsert the card and make sure it is tight. replace the screw.
After the day is up plug the monitor back in and use the buttons on the front to enter the monitor menu. Choose to reset or factory settings.
Hook it back up to the computer and boot the computer.
If the problem still occurs try the monitor on another computer or laptop.
If the problem goes away by hooking it up elsewhere - replace the video card.If you are not sure what type to purchase just post back model and serial of the computer.
If the problem is still there after hooking the monitor up elsewhere,
Try changing the video cable or seek rpelacement through warranty or purchase a new one. Check newegg.com for best prices.

My screen acts in sleep mode when computer is turned on

It is likely not a problem with the monitor, because the lights indicate that the monitor is turned on.

It may be a video card problem. Do you know if you have a video card, or if it is integrated graphics? Check all of the connections from the monitor to the computer. If you can connect the monitor to another computer and it works, then it is definitely your computer.

Very, very unlikely, but it could be that you're using a damaged cable. If you have another one on hand, try it. If not, don't go and buy one because this likely isn't the problem.

Another thing you could try is turning the computer off, unplugging the power cable (going to your computer), and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Then plug it in again and power it up.

Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

If tried the monitor on two other computers with the same result -- definitly your monitor is faulty. Take it to the repair shop. To make double sure, run your computer with another monitor. If everything is fine now; you can blame the monitor.

this has nothing to do with monitor because its says no signal, meaning its working!!!
you need to be looking at the computer for possible hardware failures i.e. graphics card, memory and bios reset etc

best regards

No Video Signal

Try resetting the bios. On the motherboard there is a battery that looks like a watch battery. Remove the battery, then replace it again. (make sure the computer is unplugged from the wall socket when you do this)

Does this work?

Blank screen

When you say "When I turn on the computer the monitor acts like it is getting no power", do you mean the light on monitor doesn't come on or it does and it states it has "No Signal"? If it says no signal then it is receiving power just no signal from computer. What kind of connection is it? Digital(white) or analog(blue)? Is the keyboard wireless or is it PS/2?

If the keyboard isn't wireless and you're plugging the monitor in correctly I would say it's a power supply issue. Try changing the outlet you're using and/or bypass the surge protector to plug directly into wall.

Emachines model T1862 WILL NOT START

There are a wide range of possibilties. first if nothing at all happens when you press the power button. (no lights no sounds etc.) then the most obvious culprit would be a dead power supply or a switch in the back thats off.
Are there any fans or lights?
Please let me know...
