My Philips DVDR70 DVD Recorder will not lpay dvd's and it displays no disc

Are the new discs compatible with the recorder? Some discs are DVD R+ or DVD R- so check that bit and see if that matches what it says the recorder will run.

You might need to finalise the disc first before it will play elsewhere.

You need to unlock the player before it will play discs from other regions. UK has region 2 discs while the US has region 1.

Search on Google for your DVD model and unlock code.
Dial in the code using your remote and you should then be able to play any region discs from around the world.

The dvdr70 does not record on dvd - r disks only dvd + r, dvd + rw. Refer to the manual.

From the Sky box, plug one SCART lead to your recorder and plug another to your TV. Then plug a SCART from the TV to the recorder.

You can then select the SCART connector for the sky box to record programs.

This will work after the digital switchover. The switchover is only for 'normal' tv signals from your tv aerial

Lol Philips is OK, no brand makes their own, they just tag it. Mostly same china plant with different looks.
