Acer produces a number of LCD computer monitors. Acer's monitors range from 17 inches to 27 inches. Some monitors offer wide-screen viewing, embedded speakers, high-definition visuals, and various display connection ports. Acer computer monitor problems include common issues such as dead pixels, error messages, and blank screens caused by incorrect connections. Some reviewers have also detected image problems with DVD playback on some models.
"Input Not Supported" Error Message Acer computer monitors such as the G24 may issue an "Input Not Supported" error message when users set the display resolution too high. The G24's maximum display resolution is 1920x1200 with a 60Hz refresh rate. Maximum resolutions vary according to the specific monitor model and according to the capabilities of the computer's video card. b> "Input Out of Range" b> Some Acer computer monitors may report an "Input Out of Range" error message due to incorrectly set monitor refresh rates. Much like the display resolution, each monitor also has specific monitor refresh rates with which it is compatible. Blank Screen or "No Signal" Error b> Like other monitors, Acer computer monitors feature color-coded power indicator lights. If the power indicator light shows green, the contrast or brightness levels may be set too low and should be adjusted via the OnScreen Display. If this does not rid the monitor of a black screen, the monitor may be experiencing hardware failure. The "No Signal" or "Check Cable message" may indicate a problem with the monitor's cable connection with the video card. This error may also appear on a blank screen backdrop if the monitor is plugged into the incorrect port on the computer or if the computer is frozen and needs to be rebooted. Faulty power cords or outlets may cause the screen to be black and to show no power indicator color. b> Image Issues b> Some review sites such as CNET have reported problems with streaking and ghosting during DVD playback on some Acer computer monitors such as the AL1931. (A "ghost" is an identical offset image as the primary or desired image.) Unstable or unclear image issues may be caused by incorrectly programmed VGA timings or incorrectly installed monitor drivers. b> Dead Pixels b> Dead pixels and sub-pixels can cause a variety of display enjoyment problems. Acer will only accept returns on LCD computer monitors that have "more than four (4) defective pixels per million pixels." Further, the central area of the monitor may have no more than one defective pixel. Acer does not differentiate in warranty terms between pixels and sub-pixels. Hope this helps.
I believe the max resolution this LCD can support is 1440 x 900 / 75 Hz. If you set your display resolution higher then that, you will receive the input signal out of range error. Your LDC turns off to protect it self from the invalid settings. If you can not change it back once your PC boots to windows, you may have to do it in save mode by pressing F8 once you power on your PC and before the windows loading screen starts. Regards,Chris
try booting into safe mode. hit the f8 key during bootup to get that option and see if safe mode works fine. If it does, then the problem is a bad or corrupt video driver. The display itself could be going bad, also, but that seems less likely if you can see the splash screen every time. If you cant boot into safe mode, you may have corrupt OS and need to do a repair install.
Out of range indicates that the refresh rate or resolution is set too high for the monitor to display. I would suggest re booting into safe mode by pressing F8 during boot, before windows begins to load. Select safe mode with networking if you can, and once in safe mode, uninstall the ati display driver from the control panel. Then go to ATI's site and download the latest driver for your card. Save that file to your desktop. Reboot normally, as Windows should load default vga drivers for your card. Once in Windows, install the latest driver you just downloaded. That should reset the resoultion to one that your monitor can display. Good luck:)

You have failed to specify wheather or not your LCD Display is under Warrenty.
Perhaps these simple trouble shooting procedures will get the job done.
1. use the DVI to VGA adaptor that came with your card
Plug in a regular CRT monitor to the Primary Display Output Port using the DVI to VGA adaptor
( either port can be designated as the primary by you )
I like to use the Port nearest to the motherboard as the Primary
2. plug in the your LCD monitor on Secondary Display port using your DVI cable
At this point you should be able to see your desktop on the Primary CRT Display
3. Go to the display properties and use the Nvidia Dual Display Setup Wizard
set both desktops to CLONED at a resolution of 1024x768 and set the refresh to 60Hz
which is default for most LCD displays , some have higher refresh rates , consult your user manuel
If the display resolution and refresh are set incorrectly for your CRT or LCD you will see
Signal Out of Range ( if the display has the ability to display that error message )
At this stage both displays should be showing a Windows Desktop
If you now see your desktop on both displays , you can now put the LCD on the Primary Port
No Signal Detected ( this means the display device is not receiving a signal )
If your LCD display is still displaying the error message
"No Signal Detected" after performing the trouble shooting proceedures
You may need to read the user manuel about how to enable DVI signal input.
If you are certan you have done everything correctly but still see only "No Signal Detected"
I have been having the same problem with my hpvs17 monitor when i start to use my web browser on linux distros. Now, for the next few days i am going to try my system on a regular crt monitor. if the monitor does not crash, than i will have to say that the hpvs17 monitor has a defect.It seems that when i go online, while i am in the middle of searching something, the monitor just shuts off and i get "input signal out of range".
