Reboot is just another name for restarting the laptop without actually powering it off. Click on start button and take the option 'restart'. Computer will shut down whatever applications that are still running, close off the screen and then return to the desktop view.

Not reading an operating system

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

How can i reboot my acer laptop

Press Start(ORB at bottom left for vista/w7) and if you're on windows 7/vista, there should be a list button on the bottom right side of the start menu saying "Shutdown"(windows 7) and "Sleep"(Vista), click the list and click Reboot.

On XP you need to click the Shutdown button and before you click shutdown instead click Reboot(Green button If i recall correctly).

How do i reboot my computer

Hi,

To reboot the desktop machine, kindly press the power on button for few seconds / small button(reset) below the power button to reboot the computer.

If its laptop follow the below steps

Determine what operating system it uses. Finding out what operating system your laptop uses will let you know what key combo (such as "Ctrl+Alt+Delete") can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown.

Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up.

Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.

Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately.

Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually. A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

I want to restart or reset my laptop. how?

Hi,

Few steps to restart you laptop, I would suggest not to restart often since it will degrade the hardware resource.
  • Determine what operating system it uses. Finding out what operating system your laptop uses will let you know what key combo (such as "Ctrl+Alt+Delete") can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown.
  • Try and reboot using the operating system. Attempt to use the key combination that will allow you to exit from the operating system and restart the laptop. Be patient, as it may take some time if it has locked up.
  • Hold down the power button. If the operating system's answer to the rebooting will not work, find and hold down the power button of the laptop. This should cause the device to shut itself off. You'll have to press the power button again to power it back on, completing the reboot.
  • Unplug from the wall and remove the battery. If restarting via the operating system and the power button do not work, unplug the laptop from the wall outlet, and remove the battery from the laptop. This will cause it to power off immediately.
  • Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually.
Else Try:

Windows start > there's a small arrow(pointing RIGHT) in the left bottom > click it and u will get ALL the Power House Options there at your Click(sleep, hibernate, shut down,RESTART,....)

How do I reboot my acer laptop with my copy disk?

When turning your laptop on, before Windows starts booting, a splash screen appears first (usually with the logo of the manufacturer). Look on the splash screen (usually at the bottom) for a key (usually F10 or F11), assigned for System Recovery CD/DVD with the laptop. or 1.Press the start button from the start menu depending on your operating system(win 2000,xp) 2.Press Ctrl+Alt+delete combination from the keyboard. 3.If you have a power button on your laptop keyboard,it could also be useful by pressing and hold it down for few seconds N.B: "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" can exit you from usage and trigger a reboot or shutdown. Allow time to reboot. Give the laptop time to cool down before you power it back on if you had to do this manually. A few seconds should do unless you have additional problems.

All the Best!

How to reboot my toshiba satellite a100/a105 without recovery disk

I don't think "reboot" is the phrase you are really asking about.

To reboot is simply shutting your computer down and then letting it re-start itself.

To re-install the Operating System, and its drivers for that laptop, is another story.

To do that, if you do not have a recovery disk, would involve having a legit copy of windows, and then another computer to download the network drivers for that computer (either on a flash, CD, or floppy) to install on laptop to connect to the internet to retrieve the rest of the drivers for that laptop that can be found at:
