DID YOU CHECK TO BE SURE YOUR INTERNET PROVIDER WAS NOT HAVING ISSUES? Sorry about the cap lock. I had a problem with Charter internet and so I used my cell phone to search and see if they were having problems and they were.
If not have you tried re-booting your router and modem?
first you must have an ISP Internet Service provider contract which will provide you with a modem and leads you can choose either a dial up,usb,or an ethernet connection to connect to the internet or if you have a laptop you can choose a wireless usb modem which can work on a desktop aswell once you recieve the modem just insert the disk provided and follow the prompts to set up your newinternet connection during the setup process you will be asked for a password I suggest you make a log of all pass words used outside of your computer incase of memory lapses or if this is what you mean you might have put in the wrong password or user id check to make sure you have put these in correctly first make sure the caps lock is on/off what ever applies to your user and password id that you provided to your ISP also make sure your routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online

You Router supports either WEP or WPA Security. First thing to do is enable the security, it will become difficult to enter from other users. IF your using a default gateway (192.168.x.x) which is your Router Address. You can enter by Internet Explorer to go inside the Firmware of your Router (http://192.168.0.1) then enter.
There's another option to configure the security or encryption using your SBG 900
Connect your computer to one of the LAN ports Access the configuration of the modem (example 192.168.254.1) The if you got the configuration page open find the wireless settings and configure the WPA or WEP security using your modem.
