Question about Canon PIXMA iP1600 Printer
IT was working fine until i replaced the ink cartridges and now i get the service error 53 and service error 1401 which states that it does not recognise the colour cartridge - i have tried 2 refills and 1 new cartridges.
Most common, is there is a tiny piece of lint or paper shred, has worked its way between the ink cartridge and the print carrieage connectors,
take the cartridges out and wipe down the connectors on the cartridge and carriage with a lint free cloth or lens brush
Isopropyl alcohol is a good residue free cleaning fluid,
if no all the connectors answer, the printer assumes a wrong cartridge
not a guarantee, just something to try
