Hello,
Is that buzzing/click you hear from the compressor area?
If it is from their, the relay on the compressor has gone out, or the compressor is locked up.To determine which of those it is the amprage draw using a amp meter clamped to the wire on the overload thermostat where the relay is, must be measured, if 17 or higher amps the compressor has locked up, if its around 5 or so the relay has gone out and replacing both relay and overload will fix it.If the compressor has locked that is a major repair and may cost up to $1200

Is the compressor (underneath the refrigerator) not running?

If so, the buzzing sounds like the compressor is trying to come on, and it won't for some reason. That's major repairs.

You need to clean your coils under the 'fridge,' and wait 24 hours, if it is not not getting cold, perhaps replace the freon. If that does not work, you need to call a repairman.

INTERMINENT BUZZING NOT COOLING

from your description it sounds as if the compressor is not starting up. the buzzing noise usually occurs approx. ever 3-5 minutes and is followed by a click. this indicates either a bad start relay or a stuck compressor. and from the model you listed it is most likely the compressor. if the unit is under 5 yrs old it should still be in warranty thru sears.

Freezer and refrigerator not cooling. Makes a buzzing noise

hello sbarrry2 it sound like the motor that is running continously is the condenseer fan and the buzzing and then the click would be the compressor trying to start up and going off on overlaod. shut the unit off at the swiutch, let it cool down (3) hours possibly and then try to turn it back on. this should work. Frigidaire side-by-side model # FRS26H5ASB4 making humming or buzzing noise

I had the same problem. I found the buzzing noise was caused by ice build up around the fan motor inside the freezer. I believe water must have leaked down around the fan during a defrost cycle. I removed the ice maker, the ice cube bin and ice dispenser auger motor. It sounds complicated, but it isn't too bad. The ice maker and auger are connected with quick connect plugs. So just unplug, remove the screws and remove them from the freezer. You will need to remove several other screws as well, I believe 11 in total as well as the top freezer rack. This will give you access to the white aluminum panel that runs from the top of the freezer to about halfway down the back of the freezer. After you remove the aluminum panel you will see the fan about half way down the freezer. I found a lot of ice around my fan. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the buzz. Remove the ice and the buzzing is gone. It took me an hour to complete this repair. I hope this helps.
