Memory/Storage How do I add more memory/Storage to my MobilePro 900?

Additional storage can be added to the MobilePro 900 by adding memory cards to either the CF Card slot or the PCMCIA (PC Card) slot. There are several types of memory cards available, including Flash Memory and miniature hard drives, in both the CF and PCMCIA form factor.

Download the ATA PCMCIA/CF-Card update drivers* (file name MP8Pcm.exe) from ftp://ftp.necsam.com/pub/versa/mobilepro/. Click on the link to download. After the files are extracted, follow the installation instructions in Readme.txt. *This module requires 40KB of internal RAM memory. If the MobilePro has been Hard Reset or Main memory has been erased due to main/backup battery low, this module should be re-installed.

After the files are extracted, follow the installation instructions in Readme.txt. *This module requires 40KB of internal RAM memory. SCHANNEL.DLL Memory usage: The three patches use approximately 2,155 KB of storage and 418 KB of program memory. Hard reset???


Warning: This procedure will ERASE all user data stored on the MobilePro 900. Make sure you have backed up all data before doing the following. To hard reset your MobilePro 900, simply remove both the main and back up batteries for 60 seconds. Jack for the external microphone


There is an error in the MobilePro 900 manual (Pages 2-2 and 2-3). The jack on the front of the MobilePro 900 is a stereo headphone jack only. The MobilePro 900 has a built in microphone. There is no jack for attaching an external microphone.

Some MobilePro units have exhibited the following symptoms when using Compact Flash Cards or ATA PCMCIA Memory Cards: 1. Storage Card folder is not displayed when you insert a PCMCIA ATA card and/or a Compact Flash card. 2. Warning message "Unidentified PC Card Adapter". 3. Warning message "Storage Card Warning" displayed. To fix these issues: If you have a MobilePro 750C without a ROM upgrade, download the file MP75Pcm.exe from support.necsam.com. For a MobilePro 750C with upgraded ROM, use the file MP75RPcm.exe. After the files are extracted, follow the instructions in the Readme.txt file.

Not Enough Memory errors


* Empty your Recycle Bin on a regular basis. * Delete unused programs and files. * Reduce the storage space reserved for Internet Cache. o Open Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE) o Select View, Options and Advanced. o Adjust the size of cache, select Empty Cache When Exiting or disable caching altogether by removing the check mark from Enable Caching. * Consider external storage as an alternative.
