Hello,

Yes the baffles could be removed to clean them by removing the lint filter,in the top where the filter goes are 2 phillips head screws, remove them, use medium sized straight blade screwdriver and place it in the seam between the top in and front panel and pop up the top, them pivot back against the wall(dont worry it is hinged in the rear and wont fall off). You will see the drum and can remove the screws that screws that hold the baffles in place,to rotate the drum to get to each baffle rotate it by hand in a counterclockwise direction.

My dryer keeps getting lent bevingld the drum & catching on firem i changed the element & cleaned out all the lent & a week later it caught on fire again. Any ideas?

what's the brand name and model number?on some electric dryers like ge or frigidaire that have the heater element on the back wall of dryer the drum has a metal ring around the back of it and the lint builds up in it,you have to remove the drum and clean the lint out,if you open the door and look through the holes in the back wall of drum you sometimes can see it and it gets thick, you can try to vac it out through the holes,if you have a stinger vac or shop vac set it to blow and blow through the holes and vac it some more but the best way is to remove the drum and clean it.you should do this at least once a year, clean out the inside of dryer, the duct where the lint filter slides down into and the vent line,if you do this your clothes will dry on time, the parts will last longer like the motor, usually is covered in lint and you won't have a dryer fire.

How to remove lent from the dryer

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Tumbler turns, but no heat. gas line is open and looks good... what might be the problem?

Upon starting the dryer you should hear the clicking noise of the spark ignitor. If heard that is fine. Next remove all exhaust vent tubing and clean out thoroughly. The moister sensor detects any lint build up and will put the heat burner into a check mode untill the lint build up is removed. It was designed to prevent fires to start. If cleaned and still does not produce any heat replace that moister sensor

I HAVE A KENMORE 400 SERIES DRYER. THE LENT NO LONGER STICKS TO THE FILTER. WHEN I PULL THE FILTER OUT TO CLEAN IT, THE LENT SLIDES OFF THE FILTER CONTINUALLY CLOGGING THE VENT IN THE BACK OF THE DRYER....

Try cleaning the filter to remove any residue from dryer sheets (a dish detergent solution should cut the softener build-up). Be as gentle as possible. An old toothbrush is useful for this.

Also, a weak exhaust flow may be the culprit. Check the dryer vent line all the way outside for excess lint.

Your fan impeller (inside the dryer) may be loaded with lint, too.

Dryer shuts down after 5mins and also has a random

I think the vent is pluged up or bent so that the lent is trapped in the hose. its getting too hot. don't use it anymore till you get it cleaned and check for lent build up in side. can cause fire.

Repair loose tumbler fin

Pop the top, remove the front, the drum will come free. Take pictures of how the belt goes around the motor. Fix your "fin" and reverse.

The top is held down by spring clips.

Dryer is not drying

Had the same problem. Take the back of the dryer off and vacuum were your lint trap is installed at. Once you take that plate off you will see the lint build up and you will be able to clean it properly.

Remove 2 screws under the lint filter cover, then using a spatula or similar, prize apart the top cover from the cabinet, lift top cover and support it.Turn drum by hand until the drum baffles are at the top, and refasten the baffles one at a time.
Then lower cover down and press until it is closed, replace 2 screwa under lint cover.
Job done.

A tumbler fin

This isn't much help, but those fins will break off. I have had them break off. I am ordering some new ones, called "baffles" and will be installing them. I hope I can the top open on the machine.
