How do I replace the fuse on my 2004 Mitsubishi ws-48315 projection hdtv

the fuse is mounted on the power pcb, it is either plug-in or soldered in.BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE TV FROM THE AC BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY SERVICE OF THIS TYPE.

If the fuse is open be sure to check for & resolve any shorts, or you're just wasting time & fuses.

RCA HD52W58 has a short somewhere in the deflection board

TL010 which is the HOT its attached to the heat sink directly in front of the flyback. Unsolder that and see if the fuse stops blowing.

I turned on my tv this morning and it started smoking and of course smelling like something inside was burning. We took off the back and can see nothing that looks burnt or melted but the tv still wont...

may be ur tvs lamp side have some problem. may be the lamp over heated and burned. just open its lamp cover ann check it.
also check its power supply input point(near fuse) there is an MOV (used for voltage surge protection) is burned or not. if there is any voltage surge it will get shorted and the fuse will blow off, protect the power supply for any further damage. check the fuse also. if found open then check the MOV. insert fuse only after replacing the MOV.

My TV turns of and on by itself

It is power supply mistake. There are regulators fitted inside your tv circuit board, which are directly soldered to printed circuit board. After years of age, the soldering points gets heated and cooled, as the regulators will get heated while working. Re-solder the junction will rectify the problem. If it does not help check for any short circuit in it. A small value high voltage capacitor fitted to the collector of the horizontal output transistor, usually [330pf 2000v] will get shorted to earth. If it gets shorted it is an effect of direct short to the 120vDC power supply rails in your tv
There's a problem with the power ic board. Open it up and look for a burned capacitor. De-solder the piece out and replace with a new one that matches the same specs

i.e. bad capacitor in power supply

Worked fine this morning. Unplugged it to rearrange. Plugged it back in and the green "timer" light flashes and it will not turn on. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill

bill! any time that you have power turn on issues, you should make sure that you have the proper ac supply voltage at the wall outlet. plug in a lamp at the same outlet as the tv set!. if it works unplug the tv set for a few minutes to attempt a reset of a possibly bad turn on relay or power circuit. try turning on the set by the power button on the front panel. then try using the power on the remote control. each time listen for a click of the power relay and static build up for the high voltage circuits. if you have niether! unplug the set and open up the back bottom panel and check for a open fuse any where on the the circuit board. now bill put on some rubber dish washing gloves before you attempt to replace any fuses upon reaching onto the circuit board suface area. there is a danger of electric shock! at the projector picture tubes an the flyback tranformer areas. if you find any blown fuses and intend to replace them, they must be replaced with ones of the same voltage and amperage rating or your could cause a fire and burn up your set or your home. if the fuse at the ac line cord circuit is not blown ,then you have a open on short circuit in the high voltage section of the set. replace the blown fuse and power of the set again, if it should blow the fuse then you need some professional help unless you are familar with testing and changing out the horizontal output transistor in which maybe causing the short.

Blows fuse

If the line fuse keeps blowing fuses when the unit is plugged into AC, then there is a short in the Primary side of the power supply, usually the bridge recifiters or a shorted Diode rectifier or power regulator.

Mitsubishi 55908 powers on then powers off

A short causes an open fuse. In this case, one or two open

pico fuses in power supply. Usually, the short is one of the

convergence IC's== STK unit(s) mounted to large heat sink on

middle PCB.Check it out and let me know if you need more help........T.
