My motorola is showing `` no service and emergency calls only ``
My motorola is showing me `` no service `` and `` ememrgency calls only `` every time that I light up my phone , whats wrong ! ,,I can`t even make a call and had to buy a new phone ( sometimes these ebay buys can be a real scam ) !
I see full signal on my V3i phone but whenever I try to make a call ..the goes off and call fails. Then the sign comes as "Emergency calls only"..Gave it to the motorola service station...but they couldn't fix it.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

I have a similar problem with my Samsung on Vodafone, but the "emergency calls only" error message. Solution is to re-boot it by power off and on. Problem appears irregularly, but functions OK once re-booted. If this solves your problem, then I assume that the other error messages are simply the sort of behaviour associated with computers hanging etc.
This happens when no sim-card is inserted or your carrier's network is not available. Try to check the sim-card contacts or put it into another phone and see whether it works there. If the sim-card is defective you generally can exchange it for free in the nearest office of your wireless-carrier.
When the phone says "emergency calls only" it means that the phone has found a network, but it can not register in it due to the problems described above. For emergency calls network registration is not required, it is made for so you could call 911 even without any sim-card installed.
when your mobile's antennae does not recieve teh signal from the tower, you see this message. if you are just far from the signal, you'll see the emergency only, now you can call the emergency number 112 only,
when you are even not in the reach of emergency signal, it displays No Service.
you can use the Emergency signal when you are in need, you have to call 112 and an agents picks your call and helps you regarding police, fire, or you can ask them to inform some matter to others in urgency..
try taking the sim card out and put it back in...it could be network, tower or sim
related....wait at least 20 seconds before putting battery back in..this reboot should help..if not, u should contact ur service provider....
