Whirlpool WED5100VQ1 does not heat

Those fuses and thermostats can be checked for continuity with a multi meter. There are several other things that can cause a dryer not to heat. Heating element, burnt wires, improper voltage, inadequate venting, timer, and motor

Whirlpool electric dryer model WED5100VQ1 Dryer won't heat and timer dial won't move once it's set on desired dry time. Are these related? Any ideas?

For anyone who may be interested (this post is a little dated). I just diagnosed one of these machines today. Dryer runs with no heat. First thing if you don't have an ohm meter get one and learn how to use it (easy). Check for 220 (240) volts at receptacle then ohm your element then check your thermal cut off( at top of element housing, if these check out good then the timer is the likely culprit ( what I found today). There is a schematic inside the console that shows you what to check.
God bless.

Holes in Clothes

You'll need a drill with a wire brush attachment and take that to the front of the heating element. The heating element gets a lot of crud built up on it and yes it'll put holes on clothes.
