Touch Screen Problems

My touch screen stops working after a few hours of use. It begins a slow decent by first sticking on a key or a scroll bar and goes south from there until the entire screen stops working. The Navigator button still works as do the other buttons on there but the touch pad is completely dead. The fix is to completely wipe out the memory on the device and resync but since this happens SO OFTEN it is a HUGE annoyance.

You may want to use the Task Switcher that you can start by going to Settings/System. When you click on Task Switcher, you will see all of the open programs. If you have a large number of open programs then you may see a degredation in performance. You may also have a single application that is causing problems. If a soft reset cures the problem, then it is not a hardware problem.

After clearing the memory,or if the touch panel detection function is not working correctly,follow this procedure to calibrate the touch screen.Press the yellow reset key ,press 1993 and press red stop key 5 times to open the self diagnostics menu.On the touch screen press Touch Screen Adjust.Use a pointed tool to press the upper left mark.Press the lower right mark after it appears.Touch a few spots on the touch pannel to confirm that the marker appears exactly where the screen is touched.When you are finished press OK on the scree,touch Exit on the screen to close the self diagnostic menu and save the calibration settings.

scan for any virus.
reconfigure the touch sensitivity in control panel.
above doesn't solve the problem, try reinstalling the operating system.

Touch screen has stopped working and phone sometimes locks up :(


That happened to me and my htc touch hd the other day. I tuned it off, pulled the battery out and let it dry out completely. The touch screen didn't work until a few hours later. However when water happens to an electronic device it usually will need to be replaced. Just cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Touch screen stop working


Hello,
Omnitech GPS systems are very decent for me. I have 2.
There were several reports of GPS problems beginning on or about 11-14 June 2009. This is due to the GPS navigation messages rollover from 255 to 0. Some GPS systems fail to accommodate this behavior; Omnitech is one of them.
Staples did provide a firmware update a few days later. There are also other firmware updates available on the net. I personally successfully update the firmware and resolve the problem around June 15, 2009.
Otherwise, the problem should go away after 1-2 weeks.

Touch screen


The touch screen wont register if the unit has been reset and sometimes when it updates. Use the side buttons to control the cursor. Click the menu button, and then use the down arrow key to slect settings.click settings with the ok button. use the down arrow button to scroll down to display. click ok. The display screen will come up. Use the down arrow key to go to touch screen calibration. Use the ok button to select this option and follow the instructions. You will have to use the stylus to tap three calibration points on the touch screen and it should work fine from there.

To determine if there is an issue with the touch screen, you need to
follow these steps:-
* Turn on the unit and select any user.
* Select 'Option' from the keypad.
* Then select 'Configuration'.
* Scroll down to select 'Diagnostics”.
* Scroll down again and select 'Touch Screen Test”.

If you can complete the 'Touch Screen Test ', it implies that there is no issue with the touch screen. The most effective way to use the touch screen is to select using the tip of the finger or with a blunt end of a pen or a stylus. However, if you cannot complete the touch screen test, it would imply that there is a problem with the touch screen.
