Thanks for your help. My HLN467W will not turn on. I can hear the relay inside the set turn on and the "LAMP" LED flashes (only status light flashing) and then I hear the relay switch off again after about 10 seconds. The Samsung website status light troubleshooting matrix does not have any option for just the "LAMP" LED light flashing. There are no Samsung techs in my area (Yokosuka, Japan) and Samsung phone only suggested trying a new bulb.
Remove the lamp and visually check if inside looks broken.if visually do not see any thing wrong, check if you have 300 volts dc supply on the ballast which starts the lamp.if you do then the ballast may be defective.if you do not then the power supply should be checked.
the lamp should always be tried first especially if is older than two years.
note - be aware about the switch at the door lamp.the door should be closed, otherwise tv will not work.if you remove the back cover, make sure to bypass the switch temporarely so you could work on the set.

<img src="mas_baz.jpg" /><br />There are three LED indicators. LAMP, TIMER, STANDBY/TEMP. Each Led or combination leds indicated problem.<br />
<li>LAMP blinking : The picture will automatically appear in about 15 seconds.</li>
<li>TIMER and STANDBY/TEMP blinking : A cooling fan inside the set is not operating normally.</li>
<li>LAMP and STANDBY/TEMP blinking : Lamp cover on the rear of the set is not properly shut.</li>
<li>STANDBY/TEMP blinking : Check if the ventilation hole on the rear of the set is blocked, because if the inner temperature is too high, the power will shut off.</li>
<li>All LED blinking : Lamp may be defective.<br /></li></ul>It takes about 30 seconds for the TV to warm up, so normal brightness may not appear immediately. The TV has a fan to keep the inside lamp from overheating. You'll occasionally hear it working.<br /><br /><br />
You have a bad color wheel. The color wheel is located in front of the lamp, as the light shines through it as it spins. It is made up of different colored segments of glass, and one of the segments has came loose and causing the vibrating humming noise. The reason I know it isn't a fan is because the fans will continue to run for about 30 seconds after the set is powered off. The click you hear is the relay cutting off the fans. The color wheel cuts off as soon as you press the power button to cut the set off. I've replaced many of these at our shop for the same problem.
Unplug the set from the wall. Next you will need to remove the Lamp Door on the right side of the set. Just one screw and you can remove the door. Next you will see the lamp inside. It has two gold colored screws. Loosen both screws and grab the handle and lightly wiggle side to side while pulling the lamp out. Warning!!! DO NOT TOUCH THE FRONT GLASS AT ALL on the old lamp and the new lamp. If you see shattered glass inside the lamp then you have a bad lamp. There will be a Lamp Code sticker on the left side of the set. Record the lamp Code and purchase a lamp. Once you have the correct lamp just reverse the process. Make sure you have the Lamp Door on correctly and the screw in or else the set will not come on.
