You can't damage the screen. Connect the cable and go thru the 1080 options. See which one fits the screen. If it's wrong for the TV a message will pop up saying so.

SOURCE: LCDTV - Picture problem

Do the lines only appear on the Cable box input? It maybe be a problem with your cable. Try to isolate the problem.

Do you see the lines on all sources such as your DVD player as well? If you press the MENU button on the Sharp remote, do the lines go through the menu as well? If yes, it is most likely a TV problem.

A bunch of lines sounds like it is most likely a problem with the connection with the LVDS cable, if not that, then a defective main board.

There isn't really much you can do about it now.
Since the TV is less than a year old, I suggest calling Sharp to locate a local authorized service center.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-65D64U Picture Quality

You need to change your TV's settings and enhancements. Directly from the store and out of the box, the settings are adjusted for easiest sell in the store. That means that:
Your contrast is cranked to 100. Move this down to 50 to 60.
Your brightness may also be cranked up high. Lower it to a level nearer the middle range but not so dark as to lose detail in the shadows.
Your TV is set on "Dynamic" or "Vivid" mode. Pick "natural" or "normal" or standard.
Your sharpness is at least on, if not cranked up. Turn sharpness down or off, and the same with "Edge Enhancement" and "VSM", all to off.

Lastly, I bet you upgraded size and you are now sitting too close to the TV. Roughly, if you are sitting closer than 130 inches (about 11 foot) you might do some rearranging or save some money and get a smaller TV.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos LC-37P50E connected to computer with HDMI cable

Hi,

I got the chat , but some how it got disconnected.
But i would like to help you in this aspect.
HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface, and supports transmission of both audio and video in high fidelity.

First make sure these things,

Both your computer and your TV will need to support HDMI interface.
It's quite a recent thing in PC graphics cards, so you may have to resort to S-Video, DVI or VGA for the video, plus a 3.5mm stereo cable (or the optical TOSLINK equivalent) for the sound.

Let know your comments and i will follow up with the suggestions.
Thanx for using fixya,
Good luck.

Connect Dell Inspiron 6400 to VIZIO E601i-A3 60-inch 1080p LED HDTV using VGA Connector

When you connect the vizio try changing the resolution settings on your laptop to see if that makes a difference. Could be that your video card output is not really compatible with the higher requirements of the Vizio.

Samsung laptop screen shows garbage r540

if it's something that occurs with movement, and you had you screen previously replaced i would suspect that the screen cable clip is loose, try re-seating the cable in the back of screen and securing it with some tape to ensure that that it remains clipped in place, i think that this us most likely the issue.

As for the ATI driver i sometimes see that occuring, try updating the drivers.

Hi i have a acer aspire 5741G that i sent away for repair and it came back saying on the sticker it has a graphics card but when i try to play the sims it says there is no graphics card.....i dont want to...

Let me just guess, you have 2 videocards, onboard, thoose are chips and not replacable. The Radeon Mobility HD5470 is a chip and is probably fried, then the intel onboard card takes over, asoon you try to play the game it switches to the Radeon Mobility HD5470, wich is broken.

You can reflow the chip but thats not recommended, you best buy a new laptop or bring it to the louis rossmanngroup, they might be able to reball the chip.
It has tin solder ball's under it, 1 or 2 might be cracked, so the chip wont work.

Reflow is possible, however it wil not work in 50 % of laptops.

Go to youtube and type reflow Radeon Mobility HD5470 on acer. AND DO NOT I REPEAT NOT PUT IT IN AN OVEN.
Because it will melt everything not only the vid chip.

Is the ati radeon mxm II 512mb card a reasonable graphics card? Thanks

I am not very sure which ATI you meant, but I assume myself as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 MXM II Graphics Card 512MB, which is compatible with MXM II graphics slot Laptops. It's a good graphics card and it supports high Resolution. For your reference, I include the following descriptions about the Interfaces and their respective resolutions:

# Two integrated DisplayPort outputs

* Each supports 24- and 30-bit displays at all resolutions up to 2560x16001
* 1, 2, or 4 lanes per output, with data rate up to 2.7 Gbps per lane

# Two integrated 400 MHz 30-bit RAMDACs

* Each supports analog displays connected by VGA at all resolutions up to 2048x15361

# HDMI output support

* Supports display resolutions up to 1920x10801
* Integrated HD audio controller with up to 2 channel 48 kHz stereo or multi-channel (5.1) AC3 supporting Dolby Digital or DTS, enabling a plug-and-play cable-less audio solution

# Integrated AMD Xilleon™ HDTV encoder

* Provides high quality analog TV output (component/S-video/composite)
* Supports SDTV and HDTV resolutions
* Underscan and overscan compensation

# MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV9, VC-1, and H.264/AVC encoding and transcoding
# Seamless integration of pixel shaders with video in real time
# VGA mode support on all display outputs.

I Have a resolution problem

Did you download the video driver from the Acer WEB site?
The ATI Radeon driver must match the XP or Vista version of Windows that is installed on your ACER.

My laptop doasn't regonize my tv when i connect it

I would suggest that you should reduce the screen resolution of your laptop to something like 800 by 600 pixels, then try to reconnect it.
This is because there are some TVs that can not display the resolution provided by some high-end laptop graphics card, and I have actually experienced a case like this before.
So just try and check some lower resolutions on the laptop to connect it to your TV.
Hope it helps you out.
Goodluck!

How connect Panasonic TH-50PX75U to PC? it said the PX75 series cant connect to pc, cuz it dont accept pc signal. what i can do? send me a mail: [email protected] thanx a lot dude!

You have to have a couple of things to make this work: 1) a PC with DVI or HDMI output, 2) a video card capable of 1280x720 resolution and 3) a video card driver/utility capable of correcting for overscan.

I have my laptop connected to one of the HDMI inputs via a DVI-to-HDMI cable. I have Windows at 1280x720 resolution on the DVI port (the external monitor). I set this through Control Panel-> Display. Once I did this I was able to see my PC desktop on my TV. The only problem then was the desktop was cutoff on all side. To fix this it was a bit more of an adventure and this solution would only work if you have an ATI Radeon video card.

I installed ATI Catalyst Control Center (CCC). In CCC, it recognized that I was connected to a Panny 50" plasma. Than enabled the DTV settings. Under those settings I put the video card into 720p@60Hz mode. I then had to create a custom format to shrink the screen to fit my Panny display. I then saved this as the default setting for the Windows desktop. Whenever Windows boots it runs CCC and sets this setting for me.

I hope that helps! It can be done and it looks great.

PC DVI to HDMI Regza Connection

I'm getting the same problem with an ATI Radeon HD 2400 going to a Regza AV555D on HDMI 1. In order to get the picture back I have to call up the source menu and move down to HDMI 2 (without clicking OK, just hover) and wait for the screen to change. Then go back to HDMI 1 for a few seconds until it flickers and then press OK. A bit long winded and far from a solution but it's enough to sync it all back together again
