Bissel carpet cleaner not sucking up dirty water why ?

Sounds like a clogged filter. Try cleaning the Flow Indicator Filter (turn Flow Indicator cap counter-clockwise to remove it, lift out rotor and filter under it. Clean filter and reinstall in reverse order); Check and Lint filter on the Heater tank Cap. All filters are recommended to be cleaned after each use. Bissell Consumer Care number is 1-800-237-7691

8910-4 bissell proheat pet doesnt want to suck up water

First thing is to check the filters. There's a lint filter on the heater tank cap. Just remove it, clean it and put it back. Then there's a filter under the Flow Indicator: turn the flow indicator counter-clockwise and remove it. Lift the rotor and filter out. Clean the rotor and reinstall them. Screw the Flow Indicator cap back on. If that doesn't work, then you may have something stuck in draw up tube. At that point I'd call the Bissell Consumer Care people at 1-800-237-7691 Hope that Helped.

Bissell proheat2x won't suck

Check filters. There's one on the water tank cap (looks like a screen) and the other is under the Flow Indicator: turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise and remove it. Lift the rotor and under it is the filter. Clean and replace in reverse order. Hope that helped. If not you could contact Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691. Good Luck.

I have a Bissell ProHeat 2x advance carpet cleaner . It stop sucking up water. How can I fix it?

First check your filters. The Customer User Guide says to clean them after each use. There's two: The Water Tank Cap filter (looks like a screen) remove it, clean and reinstall, and the Flow Indicator: Turn the Flow Indicator Cap counter-clockwise and remove. Remove the rotor and under it is the filter. Remove, clean and reinstall in reverse order. If that didn't do it call Bissell Consumer Care at -1-800-237-7691 Hope that helps.

Doesn't seem to be sucking up dirt well

Bagless vacuum cleaners leave the bulk dirt in a receiver, but they still rely on a paper air filter to trap fine particles of dust. All the air that the vacuum moves passes through that paper filter. When the filter plugs up, it has to be cleaned or replaced. The bagless "primary filters" are much more expensive than vacuum cleaner bags, but if you can afford to replace it whenever the machine's suction is impeded, its the tidyest solution. You can remove the filter and tap it inside a waste can to dislodge some of the dirt that's plugging it. You can use another vacuum cleaner to clean it somewhat better than just tapping it. (It doesn't have to be *your* other vacuum cleaner, it could be borrowed, at the car wash, etc.) You can use compressed air to almost all of of the dirt plugging it, but you'll want to do it outside somewhere that making a clod of dust is acceptable or at least unnoticed. After a dozen or more cleanings the pores of the paper filter will become too plugged to clean well even with compressed air and it will have to be replaced.

Pet hair, sand and large particulate are least likely to plug these filters. Kitty littler, which is pressed pellets of fine clay, clogs these filters very rapidly. The clay pellets break up into very fine dust as they pass through the vacuum and whirl in the dirt cannister. Avoid vacuuming kitty litter, or any other fine clay into a bagless machine as much as possible.

The air flow indicator on my hoover elite rewind bagless vacuum shows mostly yellow. we have followed all the directions in the manual - empty dirt cup, cleaned filter, checked two locations for blockage,...

Hi, sounds like you may have a small leak in the vacuum body. After changing the filter etc. turn machine on and run your hands alond vac. body. If there is a leak you will feel or hear it. If leak is found the light should change when you cover it. I hope this helps you./ Its hard to give advice without seeing it. Give it a try then let me know how you are doing. Chris

Hi there,

the unit may be experiencing something other than a blockage. Perhaps the dirt canister is not put back into place properly and the unit is sucking through there instead of through the hose.Check to see if the lid and the canister are both on the unit correctly and see what happens. I do not think that the unit is blocked up on you.

Normal air flow indicator color by the way is the same as when the unit is in the off position. The indicator is generally like a pen spring and stretches when the hose or suction is blocked off.

Good luck.

The bag indicator shows full but the bag is empty

In my bag vac, I have found that when the light shows the bag is full when its not that there is something between where it sucks into the vac to where it empties into the bag...maybe cat hair, dog hair....etc. Try removing the bag and running it, this may allow the air to flow alittle faster and force out the jam. You may also try removing the bottom of the vac, usually just a few screws, and checking to see if you can see the jam. What is happening is this jam is slowing down the air flow and the vac thinks the bag is full....also check the filter where the air leaves the bag area...also look where the bag connects, sometimes trash can hang there.....good luck

My bissell proheat is not sucking up water, the solution comes out but when I went to empty the water holder I only had about one fourth of the water that I had in their and the carpets feel very wet.

this is easy. remove the plastic top that snaps to the part that holds the water bladder. Instide that top piece is a red door... and behind that flapping door is an air filter.... remove all the crud stuck to it and you should be good to go. No tools required, my finger nail did the trick. Once the air flow is no longer restricted the machine is back to sucking as usual.... and that's a good tihing
