Question about Cameras

1 Answer

I just got a Panasonic SDR-H40 that comes with Videocam suite 1.0. The software crashes continually every time I try to edit my video. I had Windows XP service pack 3. I deleted it. Reinstalled Videocam Suite and it still crashes. Its ****. Any advice?

    Hi

Yes, I contacted Panasonic. It seems that I have Windows XP Media edition which this crappy software also does not support. I went out and got Adope Elements moving making program which recognizes my camera and the mpeg2 format it records in. I would recommend other people trying this as well and scrap the software this camera came with if it causes you problems. The Adobe software is much better anyways. Of course Panasonic could offer no suggestions for other software solutions.

Where can I buy/download the suite for Panasonic SDR-H40 HDD camcorder

I find this: videocam-suite-297215.html

Some programs dont wokr under Windows 7, or sometiemes dont do it under 64bits (laptops); just try to look HERE or ask directly to Panasonic Support.

I know that this isnt solve your problem, but the better way is trying with the manufactured.

Hope this helps; just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Have a nice day and thanks for using FixYa. P.S. Congrats for the wedding!!!

My panasonic camcorder is sdr-h40 i can't load my videos in to my pc sence i've upgrade my computer from windows xp to windows 7 my sd card/hard disk video camera software video cam suite 1.0 is not...

Hi, the VideoCam software isn't compatible with Windows 7, but you can still copy videos and pictures to your computer and edit or view them with other software. Videos are saved by default as MPEG-2 files, and photos are saved as JPEG files -- both of these formats are recognized by a wide variety of programs. (For example, Microsoft's Picture Viewer, which comes with Windows, can display JPEGs, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager can edit them.)

Hi, you can transfer the files to your computer, you just can't use the camera's VideoCam editing software. However, you can still view the movies and photos taken by the camera using standard Windows programs.

Window 7 compatibilty

Hi, the VideoCam Suite 1.0 is not compatible with Windows 7, but that doesn't mean you can't transfer files to a Windows 7 computer. You'll just have to use another program to edit the videos if you want to edit them.

I bought a Panasonic SDR-H40 unfortunately it did not come with VideoCam Suite. I bought it in Singapore whilst on holiday so very difficult to return there. How can I get the software

The Panasonic software is useless. I got NERO DVD burn software and am now able to see the camera hard drive and recognize my videos. I have Windows XP but as long as you get the right NERO software your troubles will probably be forgotten. After learning of doing it like this I'm really glad the Panasonic software didn't work because I'm sure I have a much better handle on how I want my videos burned to DVD. I can now cut scenes, join them together and do most anything I need to with my videos.
