Question about EliteGroup ECS P4M900T-M2 Socket 775 Motherboard

Video card problem

Hi,

I have a P4M900T-M2 mobo with a Celeron D 3.33 processor. This mobo has onboard video and everything works great in this configuration. However, I have a nice BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC PCI-e video card that I am trying to use in the system. As soon as I plug the video card into the PCI-e slot, the computer will not boot and I have no video. I have confirmed the video card is working, and other video cards (an older GeForce 7600) work fine. Any ideas?

...thanks

..steve

I have to check my power supply to see if it is supplying 28A to the power rail. I know it is 500W, but I'm not sure of the current. Will check later today.

This is probably a setting in the BIOS-setup you need to change. look within system/miscellaneous configurations for an option that defines which graphics adapter should be used as default. in normal circumstances there should be an auto-detect option...

Hi there,

Yes it is possible to still plug-in an expansion video card. The 256MB limit is for the shared memory if you will be using your integrated Video Card. You can ignore it once you plug in the new video card.

Hope this helps.

Good day. I just would like to inquire if the Palit 8400GS 512MB/DDR2 video card that I recently purchased is really compatible with the Elite Group P4M900T-M2 (REV:1.0) motherboard. I also upgraded...

Hi,

Yes, Palit 8400GS 512Mb/DDR2 video card is compatible. It was a great decision you've made that is to upgrade the RAM (memory) as well from 1Gb to 1.5Gb. Your P4M900T-M Motherboard is capable of handling upto 4Gb. You might want to consider to upgrade its memory to 2Gb, 3Gb, or to its full capacity, 4Gb. Definitely, it will greatly affect your computer's performance as you are distributing its resources (video, motherboard, memory, etc) to perform individually as it was designed for.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

No, the one you want will not work simply because it's too powerful for the board and will not be recognized. Here you can find all supported processors
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ECS/P4M900T-M2(V1.0).html
as you can see the only ones for your mobo are Q6600 and Q6700.

How can i install p4m900t-m2, intel pentium ll processor. i dont have sounds.. and audio

Hi...

When your computer have no sound be sure that the motherboard driver are installed. You need to check this "right click mt computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manger check if there is a yellow question mark there. If you can see a yellow question mark it means ths driver is not installed that's why your hardware is not working.
To install load your CD driver to your CD room and install.
