Mine's 1 1/2 yrs old and I have the same problem. Took it to an authorized serviceman today and he said that there are no belts in the hoover- only a turbine that needs to be replaced. Very common with this steam vac and costly! Quoted $100 to fix and no warranty for how long it will work after.

go on line and order trubine/gear assy-6 brissells, part number 91001019. The part only cost $30.32. For some reason water infiltrates the component and freezes up the mechanism. I have the same problem with the part lasting only a year to a year and half.

had mine for about 4 yrs before the brushes quit completely. the main problem i had before and still have is that the top tank is designed flimsy, and develops leaks or cracks along the seam very easily. hoover avoids responsibility and directs you to an authorized retailer, who charges about $55-60 for a new tank. In 4 yrs, I've needed 5 tanks. Even the authorized repair/service people admit the tanks are junk. The dispensors leak from the bottom, so try not to store the tank hooked to the machine. hoover is adding a lot of hidden costs.. they put in junky parts and charge a LOT to their customers to replace them.

The brushes refused to turn. I bought the trubine/gear assy-6 brissells, part number 91001019 from Sears and replaced it. To my relief everything was back to normal. We use the heck out of the machine and I didn't need to replace it. Thanks to everyone for the advice!

The brushes are driven by air flow (suction). the most likely problem is with the turbine. This part can be replaced or repaired. If under warranty, take it tin for service, otherwise you will void any warranty.

How do you replace the brushes on a hoover f7452-900

You have two model numbers showing. I could not find anything on the F7425-900, but I did find an exploded view of the F7452-900 If you go to this URL:
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/hoover-f7452900-steamvac-all-terrain-parts-c-37315_37419_37439.html
you can see the exploded view. This itself does not provide directions on changing the brush, but it does indicate that by removing a few screws on the brush and squeezing some plastic tabs (looks like any way) that you can pull the brush off. If you have the new brush already, it may indicate some of the connection points.
Hope this helps a bit. Paul

I have a Hoover Steam Vacuum, All Terrain, and the bristle brushes are not rotating. They appear to be seated properly and, the entire vacuum is clean and free of lint, hair etc., so everything is working...

I checked the owner's manual and the parts breakdown for your model F5807. Both showed that your model has a stationary brush strip and not rotating brushes. Is F5807 the correct model number?

Brushes do not move any more how can I access the belt area to replace or inspect

The brushes are turning by an air driven turbine. The turbine has a pivot bushing made of steel inside of it that gets rusty because of the water that is running through it. The turbine gear will have to be replaced. You can access the turbine gear by removing the hood. You can find a genuine hoover replacement part by following the link below. Just find the model number of your Steamvac.

My brushes on my hoover steamvac all terrain carpet and hard floor cleaner will not spin what do i do

I am not sure if you have the F7222 or F7452 all terran. There is a plastic piece on the back of the block brush (spin scrubbers) these wear out or break. You may need to replace the block brush. You can find the parts below follow the link. Please don't forget to give positive feedback.

Hoover steamvac gold-belt?

Do you mean the brushes will not spin? the most likely cause is the bearings have seized, it will need repair or replacement. check also the brush speed knob. when on, and handle tilted the brushes should rotate. There is no belt.

Hoover terrain steam cleaner, brushes wont spin

The primary problem is that the turbine is seized. One way to verify this is to try to manually move the brushes by hand (with it off, unplugged). If not then your problem is with the turbine. This usually requires professional service. I would recommend to take it to a trusted vac shop which is familiar with these cleaners. or go to the hoover web site to locate a hoover dealer near you.
