Re: syncronizing

All you need is Activesync which can be obtained from this link.. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync38.mspx and you need OUTLOOK installed and configured. It's important not to cradle the Ipaq until you are told to from Activesync. Try the following before you try to connect again... From your PC .......... with IPAQ cradled click on Start, Control Panel Double-click on System Click on Hardware, then Device Manager Click on '+' to left of Universal Serial Bus Controllers Click on '+' to left of Windows CE USB Devices Right Click on HP USB Sync Select 'Uninstall' Uncradle IPAQ Reboot PC

How can i install the latest version Windows Mobile on my HP IPAQ rx 5935 Travel Companion?

Simple answer: you can't, sorry.

All Windows Mobile versions are customised by the supplier to suit the specific device that they're sold with, that's also why Microsoft do not provide the end-user with any support at all for WinMo and refer all such matters to the vendor instead.

HP never released an update even to WinMo 6 for your device, so you are stuck with the original WinMo 5.

Want to hook up an external mic to a HP iPAQ

It's not possible unless to modify your PDA.

It's necessary to open it, and find a place to place a microphone connector and modigy the mainboard to accept it.

Also, it is necessary to modify the external microphone to match the impendance.

Bottom line, it's possible but requires a person for it with some electronics technical skills.

Best regards,

HP Ipaq h1940 won't sync with Vista

Hi. While holding power button, and pressing reset will do a hard reset to your PDA (reset the device to its factory default settings). So if your PDA is working well, don't do it. As for the syncronization with your Vista PC; Winodws XP uses the ActiveSync software for syncronization, and for Windows Vista, Microsoft developed a brand new syncronization software called "Windows Mobile Device Center". It can be downloaded here: (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx). When you download/install this software to your PC, you should be able to connect your PDA to your PC without any problem, and definitely without changing any OS in your PDA or PC. Hope this helps.

Hp pocket pc.Travel companion,turns on,but can't view anything

I don't know how long you've had that unit. So the question is have you done any updates on it since you've had it.

An update most likely will fix most problems.

Follow this link to get to your devices' support page. It would be a good idea to bookmark it and register so they can send you any needed update alerts for your iPaq.

IPaq keeps moving appointment times

the ipaq automatically adjusts for daylight savings but the PC does not. On your PC double click on clock, click on Time Zone tab and then on that screen you will see the box that needs to be checked. also check that both PC and IPAQ are set to same time-zones.
