Gas igniter kit

I can't seem to find info on a Dean SM35GM deep fat fryer. It has two outside fryer wells and one center well that is infared heat. It is a gas unit. Can I get an automatic igniter kit for this unit to keep from using the pilot lights continuously?

With thermostat off still lets gas thru

Either the thermostat or the gas valve has failed. Locate and disconnect one of the wires going to the thermostat, if unit continues to heat the gas valve has failed, if not, the thermostat is likely stuck closed (on).

What is the reason for the reset button keep poping out on the dean sm35gm

Hi there!
Reset button of hi-limit switch will only pop-out when its sensing bulb sensed temperature higher tha 450F (trip temperature of hi-limit). Theramostat may be bad allowing oil to reach temp above 450F causing hi-limit to trip-off or hi-limit itself is bad tripping-off at temperature lower than 450F.
Check also the position of the sensing bulb of the hi-limit, it may be positioned touching the heat tube (for gas fryer) or heating element (for electric fryer) that's why it prematurely trips-off.

Anyone know if covers exist for Dean Frymaster deep-fat fryers? I have three in a mobile unit and want to be able to move the trailer without draining the oil.

Hi there!
For open fryers, oil will still spill even with cover during transit because open fryer cover is not designed to contain/ hold oil inside the fry pot to prevent the spill, it is only designed to prevent foreign objects from falling inside the fry pot when not in use, draining the fry pot before moving the trailer from one location to another is only the best solution.

Dean SM35GM pilot light low and burners won't ignite

The first thing that you need to check is the gas regulator in between the incoming gas line & the fryer. There is a plastic plug in the top, if this regulator is covered in grease then the regulator is not being vented and you will never get the burners to fire. Next is the gas valve, close to where the pilot tube comes from the valve you will find a screw about the size of a dime or smaller. WITH THE T-STAT TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION Remove that screw cap & down inside there is a plastic adjustment screw, with the unit pilot on, adjust that screw counterclockwise to the desired flame height. You won't need more than a couple of inches, now cycle the t-stat on and the burners should light. If they do not e-mail me at & I will walk you thru it.
