Question about PC Desktops

I was playing games on my compute when my computer just shut downed off. When i tried to turn it back on nothing would happen. I tried to unplgging the wires and put it back in but nothing changed. My light in the back says it still works but i don't know why t doesn't turn on.

Maybe its the power supply failing

change the power plug and try again if not working then change the power supply.

Perhaps you have to many processes running, I don't know the specs of your computer. Try shutting down unnessary processes in Task Manager or Try a program I use for older computers , freeware Razer Game Booster: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html

did you try starting up with the installation disk already in the drive?
insert disk and leave in then shut off and turn back on and see if it will start with disk. Also what model is the computer.

Nothing happened to it. Try resetting the CMOS jumper

Desktop Will Not Turn On


shut the tower off or unplug it form the back for a few minutes
plug in back in and then try to turn it on
you may have a power supply failure

Hold the power button in on the computer for 5 seconds. Wait another 5 seconds. Now hit the power button as you normally would to turn the PC on. It should boot normally.

It is likely that the game is not compatable with your version of windows.Confirm the the game was to be played with your version and if so, then contact the  game manufactor of the incompatability problem.

I wonder if your computer is overheating. Try powering off the computer and leaving it off for about 30 minutes, then try turning it back on to see if it boots up.

You also might want to try to open the computer and unseat and reseat the memory modules (of course when the computer is powered off).

Won't turn on.


This sounds like the CPU is overheating. Have you opened up the box and cleaned it out with canned air (or a vacuum in reverse to blow air works as well)?
