Hello! I turn on the printer with USB data cable atached to my pc and the Ready led is on. I installed the printer driver from lexmark support site everything beeing ok until now. I try to print from my pc and nothing. I got a massage like "USB device not recognized" and when I look in Device Manager , USB Controllers i see Unknown Device.Should I try with an parallel type cable also?

According to your problem first check that you have installed the driver properly or reinstall the driver. Check the USB cable of the printer. Replace the cable. Turn the printer off before installing the driver. Turn it on again while the driver installation wizard will ask to connect the printer. After installation reboot the printer and system both.

I've had similiar problems with customers printers in the shop. Generally I have found that if I uninstall all the Lexmark drivers and associated software and the USB drivers, then goto Start, run and type CMD (you'll need to have admistrator rights). At the prompt type SFC /scannow. Have the orginal Vista disk handy because it will probably need to install USB drivers. Once this has completed reinstall the drivers that came with the printer (not online). This should solve your problem, now you did eliminate any chance of viruses, malware or spyware interfering?

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install:
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the software asks for the printer connect it and continue

i do not have its disk and I want to download it, so I need help in order to be able to install it without its disk

I found the drivers by going to My Computer > OS (C:) > Drivers > Printer > deleted the file folder.
I then unpluged the printer, reinstalled the driver from the Lexmark Site (http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi#), restarted and it worked.
