Question about HP iPAQ RX3715 Pocket PC

Display anomaly on HP iPAQ

On my new rx3715, some letter combinations (ll, li) are displayed on red in stead of white background when ClearType is on. To illustrate, go to Start > Parameters > System tab > Display > ClearType tab. Then select Activate ClearType and you should see the anomaly. I would like to know if all rx3715 users experience the same issue, or whether I should contact HP service department for an exchange.

I have seen the same thing, but if you tip the unit to the side slightly, it goes away or gets more red. I assumed it was just the display and did not report it.

How can i do a master reset on my ipaq, i lost the log on password and can not think of another way to start it.

The only "master reset" i know of is a hard reset. Warning! This will erase all data in the main memory (not in ipaq file store) and reload the operating system from ROM. Afterwards you should restore the latest backup.

To perform a hard reset do the following:
- place the unit on a table with the display facing upwards
- with two fingers of one hand press and hold the leftmost ("Mobile Media") and rightmost ("iTask") button simultaneously
- with the other hand press the reset knob with the stylus

My Ipaq rx3715 won't charge. "AC only"

its obsolete now, why use this thing?
wait for battery? then post?
or go to HP and ask them,
we are not HP, this is chat bs boxes here.

ever heard of HP? this is the official HP forum, try it?

If HP cant help you who can,
learn this ,when compelled to mess with obsolete products
buy 2 of them for like $3 on fleabay (most are in the trash now)
then mix and match parts, all day.
its obsolete, so doing tests on it lacking full spares is impossible.
why not buy a $3 used smart phone from same place,

Is there any device(sim card) that can be attach to my ipaq rx3715

The ipaq has no phone-capable speaker system. The speakers in a phone are designed to allow the user, but no others, to hear the conversation. ipaq speakers do not have this capability. Also, the speaker and microphone are on the same end of the system. If HP had intended the ipaq for phone use, they would be higher quality, and on opposite ends of the device.

Ipaq totally dead after leaving it in my car for two weeks, temperature down to -6C

Its possible (but not likely) that when you took it into a warm room condensation built up inside it. Try removing the battery, memory cards and letting it sit in a warm, dry environment for a few days and try again. If nothing changes I suspect that a component has failed, but -6F is still within the operational range of commercial electronics. If your device is still in warranty then I would call HP up and ask for a warranty replacement. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate this posting.

Camera

have the same unit. Indoor pictures are hard to take, since there is no flash. You can change the light settings, but it still look dark unless it's a REALLY well-lit area. When using the camera, hit the settings button on the screen and tap on White Balance. Try using "Tungsten" or "Fluorescent" and see how those work for your lighting conditions. The camera works best when there's natural light present.
