There are 2 allen screws on the lower half each side of the set, (they are covered by caps that need to be popped out). Take those screwws out of each side. You will then need to take the speaker cover off and then remove the 5 screws or so that are holding the bottom of the screen to the bottom case. The bottom part of the screen is held on by brackets. Simply lift the screen off after removing the bottom screws. At this point you may want to use a screwdriver and gently pry the bottom case from the top case. They will be difficult to seperate if you don't do this. Once you achieved this, it will take at least 2 people to lift of the top compartment from the bottom compartment. Lift straight up, not side ways as there are to dowel rods that can't be broken. Once you have it apart it will be much easier to move. Obviously, before doing any of this make sure the tv is unplugged as well as dettached from any other components. Hope this helps.

Blue is good but I couldn't adjust the red and the letters have laggig red behind them and the picture hvae red eyes and also red shadows

Right now I am troubleshooting the same problem. If you go into your picture menu on your tv go to manual red convergence and hit right. It should give you 3 sets of cross hairs and your red will be able to move up and down and from left to right. If yours is anything like mine your red will not move from left to right but will have no problem going up and down. If this is the case, chances are that there is a resistor blown on the board attached to your tube that controls the red (far left looking from the back). If you don't feel good about checking resistors and diodes on that board DO NOT start taking things apart. repair costs will only get bigger the more you take apart.

HITACHI 65XWX20B - How to disassemble the cabinet?

The 65XWX20B comes apart in 2 pieces - there is a top half and a bottom half.

- The bottom half houses all of the electronics, projection lenses, etc. It is very heavy and should be moved with care.

- The top half is basically just the screen.

I have moved this Television multiple times, even up and down from a 3rd floor apartment!

- First remove the screws holding the top and the bottom, the important ones are on the sides of the TV.

- This is important, I suggest 3 people do this part: Slowly lift the top away from the bottom half of the TV, but -not- very far. There is small wiring harness that that attaches the top of the TV to the bottom to a circuit board. This must be unplugged by one person while the other 2 hold the top half of the TV slightly above the bottom half. Note carefully where this plugs in so that you can reassemble easily.

- Once this is disconnected the TV is much easier to move, although still quite heavy and bulky. Do not turn the TV on its side - keep it upright while moving.

Reverse this process to put it back together.

Once you have done it once it is quite easy.

Good luck.

Have a philips(model 55pp9401) 55 in screen.just had the color (guns/chips/moduals?)changed because the blue was warping the top of the screen, also had some burned transisters.seemed to work just great...

unplug the convergence yoke plugs all 3 of them and then see if the set powers up. If it does the troubles in the convergence circuits if it doesnt you likely have a problem with the LSB pc board. If you need more help let me know.

Red convergence real distorted for mitsubishi ws-65807

A man with your experience won't need photos. 1)locate center PCB--has large heat sink-- 2)using a hook tool, gently lift board edge connectors.Go slow,be gentle. 3)remove all connectors to center board (unplug) Don't worry about getting them mixed up--we have a saying--they are idiot proof. 4)remove all center board hold-down screws, includes two in sister board shield and three difficult to access in large heat sink shield. 5)gently lift PCB up and to the right while releasing hold-down plastic tabs on the front e of PCB.Replace STK IC's.Throw it in reverse-done

Relocating tv

Yes, this set does come apart for moving. Remove the lower screw from each side of the TV back. On both sides, pull off the two plastic caps and remove the two exposed screw. Lift the cabinet top straight up until the guide pins clear the holes in the bottom cabinet. Be careful and don't drop anything.

Remove the 3 screws about 3 inches in on the back side of the speaker cover on each side. pull out and slightly upward on the speaker cover to remove. supsupport the cover if you do not want to disconnect the ground and button control cables. Remove the screws on the top and side rear panel to front frame/screen cover. tilt the screen cover out about 12 in at the top and lift up. Reverse the procedure to reinstall.
