Solid bar in front end, two bushings on either side of front tires is this the sway bar?

if you are talking about the sway bar end links. you can replace them yourself to save a few bucks. first Raise the front of the vehicle with a hydraulic jack. Place jack stands under the frame on each side of the vehicle. Lower the hydraulic jack so that the weight of the vehicle is supported by the jack stands and the front wheels are off the ground. locate the sway bar end links on either side of the front sway bar. Remove the bolts from each end of the sway bar end link. replace the bushings in the same order you take them off. you can go to any auto parts store and buy end links for your car.

94 ford thunderbird front end wheel assembly chassis bar that connects lower control arm to frame of vehicle in front end.

The bar would be the sway bar.

The parts that connect the sway bar to the lower control arm are called the sway bar links.

The bar in the front that looks loke a handle bar and has bushings what is it

If the bar goes from side to side it is called a sway bar. If it goes from one side to alittle past center it is called the stabilizer bar.

A mechanic said our daughter's 2002 PT Cruiser, limited edition , has a sway bar that is too long. In the Chrysler PT Cruiser manual I cannot find the sway bar mentioned and I don't know where it is on...

I dont see how it could be too long, if its the one the car came with. The sway bar would not be in the owners manual. Its in front and it goes from left front wheel to right front wheel. it will have a connector link at each end to connect to the lower arm. Sometimes it called the Anti-Sway bar or Stabilizer bar.

While driving over small bumps I hear a faint

there are many possibilties. Sway bar, sway busings, shock, tire, something in the brake pad, wheel bearing, the list goes on and on. Best bet is to let someone qualified to take a look and determin what's wrong before hundereds of dollars are spent without the cause being fixed.

What is the purpose of the swine bar? The bar right by the tire. it has broke in my vehicle.

You mean the sway bar? If so, the sway bar or roll bar, or sometimes called the stabilizer bar. The sway bar has two functions.
  1. To prevent body roll or lean in a turn.
  2. It is used to control the handling of the vehicle and is tuned to your specific vehicle based on many characteristics.
You most definitely need to replace the broken sway bar. A vehicle with a broken sway bar is not a safe vehicle. The handling is not what it should be and this can be dangerous if you have to make a quick maneuver. Replace it, ASAP.

2002 chry. Voyger has front end knocking noise when going over bumps.

Get someone to help you with this: Reach behind the front wheel just rearward of the strut and you'll find a vertical rod that bolts to the strut just below the spring perch and the other end goes to the sway bar. Hold it and get someone to rock the van as hard as they can. There's and astronomically good chance you'll feel a popping in this rod. If you do, you need to replace it. It's called a sway bar link. You'll need 2 of them and the sway bar bushings as well. Spray the nuts on the links down real good with wd40. Hold the back side with a pair of channel locks to keep the ball joints in them from turning. I take the top nuts off first, then the sway bar bushings so I can move that thing around to gain access to the bottom nuts. Then put them back in reverse order. Remember this, if you do it, no matter what anyone tells you, DO NOT lubricate the sway bar bushings. After the first rain, they'll start squeaking and they'll NEVER stop. They are supposed to go on dry.
