Compatibility problem for the video files with Windows XP

There seems to be a compatibility problem for the video files with Windows XP (SP2). If I use Cyberlink PowerDirector, the programma that JVC delivers with the camera, the programma does not recognize the vidoe files as media files. Why?? What I do know is that the extension of the files is .mod (for instance: video1.mod). What can I do to import the video files and edit them?

I assume that you are using the firewire connection. Have you tried Windows MM2 in XP? Good info at this link. http://www.timwerx.net/odds/pcfile.htm

I installed john deere american farmer to my computer but when i go to play it all the pictures are gone and words in the main menu

Are you running Windows Vista or 7? It says that it is designed for Windows 2000/XP. I would go into Control Panel: Add/remove programs. Uninstall the game.
Then find the executable file to install the game (assuming you downloaded it). Right click the file and select properties. Then find the tab called Compatibility and select the check box for "run this program in compatibility mode for:" then select Windows XP (SP2). then open and install the game.
After the game is installed, reboot. Once you reboot find the launcher file to start the game, again right click and do properties, make sure its set on compatibility mode for XP. that should solve it.

You can try installing it in "Compatability Mode" for XP SP2 and Run As Administrator.
Windows Vista or Windows 7, has problems running some older versions of applications, just because so much has changed under the hood from Windows XP days.
To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu.
Select the Compatibility tab: Set it for "XP SP2"
You can actually hoose to run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode, or even all the way back to Windows 95 compatibility.
Probably the most useful setting to start off with would be to disable the visual themes and desktop composition, if you can’t get things working. If you are trying to run a video game, you will often need to choose “Run this program as an administrator”. You’ll have to play around with it, but most likely you can get your application working this way.

My game is loaded but when i click on the icon. it will not play?

Ok, from what I read on Microsoft, this software is NOT compatible with Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit. That was found directly from:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=School%20Tycoon&v=Take-Two%20Interactive&uid=&pf=0&pi=5&c=PC%20Gaming&sc=Strategy&os=32-bit

However, checking the company's website, it mentions that some games that normally won't run in Windows Vista, can be ran in a "compatibility mode" which mimics Windows XP. Follow these steps and see if this corrects the problem:
  1. Right-click the shortcut for the game.
  2. Click the compatibility tab.
  3. Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode".
  4. Select Windows XP SP2 (or Windows 98 if XP does not work) from the drop down menu.
  5. Click Apply
  6. Click OK
  7. Start the game
It should run in Windows XP SP2. If it doesn't you can try Windows 98 to be sure. If neither of these work, unfortunately, you may be unable to play this game.
