Question about Bosch Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a bosch wfk 5730 washing machine has been very reliable but now continuously keeps taking water in to machine, at timer position "F", just before the final spinning cycle begins, till it over flows and floods the kitchen area. Is this a simple fault of a faulty valve/solenoid or is this a module fault, please help Kind regards mike

Could be an iffy valve/ solenoid. One test is to see the empty machine slowly fills up with water, if you leave it for a few days. You can isolate teach valve by turning each feed off in turn. i t could be leaking all through the cycle. If it is flooding during the spin I'd check your pump at well. Hope this helps.

I have a Bosch WFK 5730 Washing Machine (getting a bit old now!!). The washing cycle has now stopped using the fabric softener in the drawer. The rest of the wsh cycle appears to work as it should. Can...

Getting old yes indeed, but the problem should be fixable.

There are two things to look for, firstly the cap on the fabric softener compartment.
You should remove the whole drawer, by pressing down the one part hooking it onto the outer Soap Box. Once done, you can take of the cap and clean it. These caps are usually blocked by softener build-up, and thus nothing can get through the hole to the drum - Most common problem if the compartment runs over with water but no fabric softener goes to the drum.

Or you should check the outer soap box. To do this is a bit more tricky - Remove the top panel, usually screwed tight at the back of the machine by 2 screws. After removing the panel, you should see the big detergent outer box, remove its top panel and clean the small water holes at its reverse. What happens here is these holes also get blocked (by age - you said it was old), and by unblocking these holes you will allow water to get through with no problem.

Good Luck

Our Bosch WFK 2401 keeps filling with hot water - even when a cold cycle is selected.

The problem is the water inlet valve has failed. Although it is only the cold water the whole valve needs to be replaced. There are 2 solenoids on the valve 1 for cold 1 for hot the cold water solenoid has failed. The reason it works in the softner is it uses a separate solenoid to let water in there.

Installing carbon brushes on Bosch WFK 2401

Remove rear panel of washer.
Remove drive belt.
Unscrew the 2 bolts that hold motor to tub back.
Remove motor plug
Lever notor back with a screwdriver or similar, keeping a firm hold on motor.and remove motor
At the rear end of motor away from pulley you will see the brushes and the armature.
Remove brushes, and if there is less than 4 or 5mm of carbon left, then replace them.
Lightly clean the armature with emery cloth.
Refit in reverse order. Test.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Bosch WFK 2401 hot water wont shut off even if you turn power off

I can help , If the unit is leeting water in with the power off the only thing it can be is the water inlet valve , it is the componet you connect your water line to under the unit behind the front lower panel. Tell me if you have any other questions and let me know how this works out.

hi there,

the 03 error message is the machine not sensing the water level. since you can drain using the pump manually, check the water level switch, as it may be faulty.
