Question about Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 Tablet PC

1 Answer

R15-S822 turning it to a tablet mode puts the computer in standby

I had my hinge changed by a technician sometime back and never bothered to check my tablet functionality. When I check it now , when I turn the display clockwise to make it a tablet , the laptop goes to standymode instead of tablet mode. Does anyone knows if its some connectivity issue or just a software issue. Thank you in advance.

The only thing i can think of its not reading you are turning the screen possibly because the technician didnt do something right, one solution may be to set the action when u close your laptop to not do anything. to do this , go to your start menu/ control panel/ performance and maintenance/ and then power options. On the menu that pops up, select the "Advanced" tab on the top and select, "Do Nothing" in the drop down menu for "when I close the lid....."

I have a Toshiba R15 S822, my problem is that my touch screen is not working, I would like to know how do I reset my computer to factory setting?

I might not be necessary to reset to factory settings. Just go to the Toshiba.us support site and download the drivers for the Tablet PC (that includes the WAcom driver, all the tablet PC extensions).
If you have the Recovery CD, you can run it from inside Windows XP and reinstall selectively all you need.
Just to set things straight, the screen of the R15 reacts to the Wacom pen only, not to your finger or some other plastic tipped pen.

I have a toshiba satellite r15-s822. I am trying to remove the bios password. I removed the rtc battery. Is there another cmos battery on the motherboard? What am i doing wrong?

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery (which is on the motherboard) or the jumper.
