Please open the manual of the KP-53V45 TV by clicking here. To program the channels in the TV, make sure that the cable is connected to the TV using the Coaxial VHF-UHF cable. Select the Auto Program option to program the channels in the TV. Press the MENU button select SETUP MENU and then select AUTO PROGRAM option to scan all the channels in the TV.

I need help installing

  1. Step 1 Take 2 to 3 people and carry the rear projection TV into your house. Once you have the big box inside, utilize the casters on the bottom to slide the television on the hard floor into the room you want to use.
  2. Step 2 Find the rear speakers-for optimum sound you will want to attach these speakers at ear level.
  3. Step 3 Determine which kind of cable you will need. There are 3 types: coaxial, S video, audio/video cable.
  4. Step 4 Select the type of cable you need-you will have to find out what type of cable has been installed in your home--standard coaxial cable or 300-ohm twin lead cable.
  5. Step 5 Decide if you need a cable box to continue the connection process. Some cable companies send out scrambled signals so you are forced into renting their descrambler.
  6. Step 6 Set cable to "On" in the channel set-up menu.
  7. Step 7 Program your remote to the Toshiba rear projection TV-this will allow you to control the on/off button and volume control.

I cannot briing in a picture. Upper left corner of picture says it is on channel 4...upper right corner "no programs availab le"How do I program TV to bring in a picture.; I am on Insight Cable.

Typically the cable box is the source of your channel programming. If you're getting the "no programs available" you need to find if that notice is from your TV or your cable box. Check the connections from your cable source to the cable box and from the cable box to your TV.
Make sure that your TV is set on the proper source selection. Most Projection TV's have several (ant, cable A, B, DVD etc) check your on-screen menu for which one and make sure the cable is connected to the proper input ports on the back of your TV.
If you disconnect the cable between the tv and cable box and still get the "no programs "...then it's your TV.. but if you lose that warning, then it's coming from the cable box... If after checking your connections, disconnect the power to your cable box and let it sit for 5 minutes and then reinsert the power to the box and see if you get a reset with signal...... If nothing after all this, contact your cable provider to check their signal to your house and also the cable box.... Hope you have quick success on this!
